Gonna buy a new phone tomorrow. LGG4 or Xperia Z5 compact?

i dunno about the z5c, but i have the g4, and it's great, no lag and the battery life is pretty long.

I also have the G4 and attest it to be the better phone. Camera is great, UHD screen is great, and it's comfortable to hold. I would love to attach a picture I took with this phone, but the file size is too large and I don't want to bother degrading it. Get a case though, dropped my G2 on concrete from waist height and it broke indefinitely, I imagine this one would do the same (plastic back).

If you disable some system wakelocks, constant syncing and deny keep awake, location, auto run permissions for certain apps your battery life will get better. Greenify also did wonders for my battery life.

Well yeah and you don't have to be rooted, but I don't see why you wouldn't. Anyways, get some wakelock blocking app and block these: *alarm*, NlpWakelock, NlpColectorWakelock. As far as app permissions go, you probably have an app for that built in. Block these permissions: location, keep awake, auto run (they might have a different name, but it's not too hard to get which is which). Do that for Facebook, Messenger, Play store, Google play services, etc. Turning off syncing is pretty easy. You have to be rooted in order to use Greenify though. If you choose to do so, just make sure to mark all your apps and in the settings allow the alarm and sms apps to function normally.

I don't have a G4 myself, but I'm planning on getting it next. I'm currently using the S5 and I'm getting around 6 hours of screen on time. I've seen people getting 7 hours of screen on time on the G4.

OP2 has a better display, more RAM, some actual development on XDA (G4 = d e a d), a fingerprint reader and better battery life.

It has a worse camera but it's better everywhere else. Battery isn't strictly removable but it's very easy to replace. You just have to take the back cover off, unscrew the backplate and you're there.

Not sure about OP2 screen > G4 screen, but I agree with everything else. I made my decision for 3 main reasons:
1) I regretted not buying a phone w/ fingerprint scanner last year, especially when im trying to use my phone while driving (changing songs etc.)
(2) battery life on op2 looks good and is likely to keep improving with software updates
(3) the op2 is sexy as fuck, and the lg g4 is ugly. The back covers for the OP2 are extortionately priced but sexy as all hell

The OP2 display is better. G4 is QHD, but 1080p looks just fine at 5.5", and the OP2 display measures better. More accurate colors, white point, color temperature, etc. All that stuff.

None atm, I'm ordering an OP2 soon. I was in the same dilemma as you, OP2 v G4. Decided on the OP2 because fuck not having any ROMs/kernels to choose from on the G4. That phone is abandoned.

Only thing that's irritating me is the delivery time. I live in the UK, ordered the OP2 a full 7 days ago and I'm still waiting. I could have bought the G4 and had it in my hands the next day.
