In this corner!
A multibillion dollar kernel funded by fortune 10 companies and almost a million combined man hours of software programming!
In the other corner!
A hippie turd basement burger that could have dominated linux 30 years ago but didn't because like the poseurs that "work" on it, was too caught up in dumb lawsuits over fucking nomenclature!
In the third corner!
Every shitty shady corporation of the world about to attempt to steal both of these operating systems!
And now we take you to the coaches of each of these contenders about to speak...
I can't believe nobody has murdered you yet. I mean really.
linux userbase in general is filled with script kiddies who think they are l33t haxors or proto commies who can`t shut the fuck up about their Orwellian doublespeak freedumbs, as if their retarded license stopped NSA or SJWs from compromising open sores projects.
I can't believe you retards don't use FreeBSD. It has an excellent package management system in pkg and the ports system is probably the best build-from-source system in all of Linux and BSD. For all of the shit talking you faggots do about GO BACK TO /v/ WITH THAT MUH GAMES SHIT you don't even bother to use the actual best open source OS because it doesn't support Steam. Kill yourselves.
Steam on Linux is a joke anyway, and now that Valve doesn't see the Windows app store as a threat it's essentially abandonware. Better to just use a virtual machine or even WINE to play vidya with.
Philosophically BSD is superiod to GNU/Linux
using pure *BSD or GNU/Linux as a desktop operating system is idiotic. that is why OS X is the best desktop operating system currently immo
>Injecting non-free binary blobs into your kernel
>this obsessed hate-fan of Angela
But BSD lacks the will of the warrior, so it has already lost.
The winner? Linux!
Rematch? You lose again, BSD!
>when we know the mod hates us and the stupid fucks who would have a linux vs bsd flame war wont even
lol cry and ban us some more, enraged /g/ mod
There is no competition.
Linux is absolute SHIT from a engineering perspective. Even Linus concedes it's a mess.
>no, angela, no
>cringes on floor
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL~~~~ (I should have remembered in the days of being pseudonymous, I WAS IN FACT GIVEN A NICKNAME ONCE)
>was seriously nicknamed after dennis the menace when I was 8 years old
>because of my personality before it got fragmented into 5 pieces which got corrupted so they're different personalities
(I'm seriously going to stfu and rtfm because, I seriously want to learn. Do you want to be tortured by me showing up in a desktop thread later (maybe some months), or would you be less traumatized if you could just forget I exist?)
Windows Me bitches!!!
Being 10 years old in swear word named chatrooms on AOL from a computer running Windows 95 in 1998, when, you wanted to learn programming so you could make a video game and your mom doesn't know shit so wont teach you shit and now you're bored, is being in hell.
>denice the menace
>seriously has wanted to do programming since age 3 because she thought of the idea while playing video games for the first time
>and then, babby's first experiences on the internet were unpleasant
>and then, when you finally had your own computer when you were 14, you looked at M$'s EULA and decided you hate it
Angela, are you completely sure you're not from hell?
(I'm completely sure she is actually capable of what she wants to do, but she needs to shut up.)
It's time for us to stop posting, for a really long time.
last time I installed a BSD (was freebsd, IIRC), I couldn't get the screen resolution higher than 800x600 on it and wifi (using wrapped drivers though) had a 1 in 3 chance of panicking the machine
mind you, the machine had problems with Linux for a year before anything on it was supported (had similar issues, except video was higher resolution), but still
would probably be using BSD otherwise, had an otherwise comfy xfce desktop and everything worked abotu like I'd expect it to other than the miserable hardware support
anyone else remember AOL locking up and shit crashing and seeing the active desktop recovery screen almost every morning
fuck Windows ME
when I installed XP on that machine, it was like a godsend, even with the measly 128MB RAM
Windows has always had that hit and miss. Me bad. Xp ok. Vista bad. 7 ok. 8 shit. 10.. tbd, but so far theyve broken the mold... its shit too as far as i can tell. Aol, i loved in the country, we didnt have aol, we had a bbs that we dialed into, then they linked to the "internet" was so new then... i broke down and got a 19.8 modem with compression. I remember my first dialup bbs was with a 4800 baud. I could talk to nashville tenn from indianapolis. Ahhh. The old chat rooms!!
I would like to use bsd but FreeBSD has a whack dev community due to the Apple involvement and OpenBSD's is rather odd.
Sad state of affairs when Linux has the most welcoming and competent dev community. Even Microsoft's is a complete joke since they been overrun with Indians.
