Steam on Linux is a joke anyway, and now that Valve doesn't see the Windows app store as a threat it's essentially abandonware. Better to just use a virtual machine or even WINE to play vidya with.

last time I installed a BSD (was freebsd, IIRC), I couldn't get the screen resolution higher than 800x600 on it and wifi (using wrapped drivers though) had a 1 in 3 chance of panicking the machine

mind you, the machine had problems with Linux for a year before anything on it was supported (had similar issues, except video was higher resolution), but still

would probably be using BSD otherwise, had an otherwise comfy xfce desktop and everything worked abotu like I'd expect it to other than the miserable hardware support
