Beautiful. Apple and Google have been surpassed in design.
Plasma looks great, but free software designers are generally sociopaths
>KDE4 rips off Vista
>KDE5 rips off OS X
What does it all mean?
I can see the potencial.
But god dammit that collor pallet is awfull and the fucking wallpaper makes me vomit.
I've always dreaded Linux DE designs, but that's pretty decent.
Two things though, that clock is shit. (Does it come with KDE or is it third-party?)
Also, it's not KDE's fault, but the program icons are shit. It's a good thing there's good DEs now but the freetard developers need to step up their game a lot.
Am I the only one who thinks KDE designs age like milk? It's like they jump on whatever design bandwagon is going on at the time and it looks horrendously out of date 5 years later.
I don't know why KDE insists on that god awful wallpaper. Their publicity screenshots would look a lot better if hey used some toned down darker colors.
Also, KDE5 is a hell of a lot better than KDE4 and Fischer-Price-Gnome, but they're still the undisputed kings of wasted space and inconsistent alignment/sizing.
>Calling KDE (or perhaps Linux) users basement dwellers
>Calling KDE (or perhaps Linux) users incapable of making anything original
>Not seeing how unoriginal it sounds to say "basement dwellers" in this context
>Not seeing the irony which would make him stop before clicking "Post"
Either a dumbass or a newfag detected. These two aren't exclusive, both can be true.
KDE is a fat bloatware DE like gnome. But it does offer nicer, more indepth customization opposed to gnome. I wish it wouldn't take my SSD with 550 MB/s read speed 40 seconds to boot a 657mb OS with KDE. :(
I'm running Debian with KDE. No other software, all I use it for is getting on the internet.
Still, my desktop is AwesomeWM with Tint2 Gentoo, has about the same read speed, boots in only 4-6 seconds. It used to be more before I changed my Kernel Compression to LZO.
The first, being a newer laptop has UEFI and the second doesn't. I thought UEFI was supposed to speed things up, fucking microshaft...
KDE 5 is the worst thing in the world. I dare you to use it. The fucking boot time takes 300 seconds, it lags, its full of bugs and insufferable UI.
XFCE is the only usable DE on Linux.
