Does /g/ buy engineering samples?
I'd be interested if I could get a source and if they were reasonably cheaper than retail

I just got my hands on my first two xeon engineering samples. e5 2643 I think

I would really not want to deal with the hardware bugs of a pre-production stepping
Yes
t. owner of the slowest NetBurst Xeon on /g/
>>51449689
Can you make a youtube video about it?

What does "t." mean?
>>51449796
shorthand for "regards" in some language (Finnish?)
It has become a dank meme on such hellholes as /int/

Don't think there's that much to say about it, it's a reasonably early revision made about 30 weeks before the P4 was announced and the SSpec (QZ18) isn't known by any of the major chip lists, probably for one of the major OEMs in my area (HP or MPC). I haven't benched it yet but I bet a 700 MHz Pentium III with RDRAM could probably take it on.
There's slower NetBurst chips out there of course, like the '99 vintage 800 MHz monster Willamettes, but this is the slowest Xeon variant I've ever heard of.

Short for Finnish "terveisin" (regards), it's a dank post-ironic shitposting meme from /int/, don't know which one though
I have a 4770K engineering sample, not gonna open up my PC to take a photo of it. It's nothing special.
I have a D.C. "Sample", if you can call them that, although I think it's an early one with just a TIM change and no new features.
