Would you buy refurbished tech?
>>
Depends.
>>
>>51448557
Yeah. For graphics cards make sure to change thermal paste.
>>
>>51448557
From a reputable dealer, I have and I'm glad i did.
>>
>>51448557
depends on who I'm buying from and what their track record is for standing behind their product.
>>
Yes, but probably only for Thinkpads.
>>
I've bought phones/tablets that were +50% off refurbished, worked like new, and then resold them for profit.
>>
Wtf what a waste of rice and raw fish
>>
If it's cheap, sure.
>>
Yeah if its from Apple
>>
i bought my thinkpad refurb'd and i've bought a few refurbished PSPs. no issues.
>>
>>51448557
She doesn't like sushi?
>>
I bought two factory refubished radeon R9 280s and put them in crossfire. No problems, they were like new. One did run hotter than the other, though, so apparently the other one had thermal paste applied better.

Sold them for a radeon R9 390X which I got for only a little. Paid 970 money for it without being a kek.

Actual factory/OEM refurb, yes. I got a factory refurb Thinkpad for about half of what it would have cost new at the time. Quite a nice machine, no real issues from being a refurb. Only real downside is I didn't get to choose options for it. I ended up with a 1600x900 screen with shit color and 12 GB RAM instead of the max of 16. Even after changing those out myself it's still a great deal.
>>
No because I'm not poor.
>>
>>51449567
my thoughts exactly, anon. refurbs are for the working class.
>>
Where do you guys buy refurbished gpu?
I only know a website for smartphone
>>
>>51448557
Of course, there is no reason not to.

I didn't have a lot of money for a long time since I studied forever and then buying used is the best option for good price/performance.

I didn't have a single part fail on me ever, but I'm taking good care of my stuff. That being said there are things you should never buy used:
>HDDs (except if you just want to connect them once a month for an actual backup)
>SSDs
>PSU (for obvious reasons)
>Keyboards, Mouse, etc (anything people touch often)

Now that I do have money, I didn't buy a single thing used in my current desktop computer. That being said I did buy almost everything but the case for the computer I have at my parents place in my old room used (except for monitor, keyboard, mouse, which I already had), since I'm barely ever there anywhere. For my server the only things I bought new were case, hot-swap bays, one Marvel 8 Port SATA controller (since I didn't want all the fun of crossflashing another SAS controller), ECC RAM (since I had compatibility issues for no reasons and didn't care enough to order a second pair used) and fans.

Also I buy directly off eBay without even caring if refurbished or not.

Oh and at work we are buying refurbished monitors and notebooks, where we never had a single problem other than missing cables (with ~700+ monitors, ~10 notebooks)
>>
I buy new everything ... only things i buy used are things u cant really find new like my n64 and things like that
>>
>>51448557
I pretty much haven't bought any tech that wasn't used/refurbished.
>>
Any /g/ approved sites for refurbished tech?
>>
>>51448557

I bought a refurbished TV that still runs like a champ about two years later.
>>
>>51451654
My entire build is second hand or refurbished no problems with it. I wouldn't buy a second hand AIO tho.
>>
>>51448557
Nah, I don't trust used things. New for me, thanks.
>>
>>51452823
>Nah, I don't trust used things. New for me, thanks.

Typical sheeple mentality. I guess if you have the money to actually buy something good and new, then good for you, that's assuming the have the right judgement when it comes to buying technology.
>>
>>51448557
It probably had someone's cum all over it

... so yes
>>
>>51448557
Depends on which. No refurbished CPUs or GPUs, these lead to disasters. Refurbished chairs, TVs and monitors, though, sure.
>>
>>51448557
Refurbished is fine, they usually swap out the keyboards for new ones

I have used refurbished WD disk for almost year now, and so far so good.
>>
>>51453254
>not just cleaning the keyboard
how does it feel to be a consumerist idiot?
>>
my notebook was bought refurbished. no issues, just a little wear and tear which is expected.
