So can Edge with the exact same mechnism.
It's like you trolls don't even try anymore.

Editing the HOSTS file != Tracking Protection

You're the one who's not trying.

So is IE in real usage unless you use a toaster.

I've already switched over to edge because Firefox brings my ULV trinity APU to its knees, edge doesn't.

already using it. fucking fast and smooth.

I don't ever want to touch Chrome/Firefox again. I only lurk YouTube and /g/ so I can make do without uBlock for now.
>>
>>51422579

Why would you even use Edge or IE? I can't believe we actually have anyone on /g/ using edge/IE.
>>
If they make it touch friendly again like modern IE then i'll switch to win10 in a heartbeat.
>>
>>51422632
Why the fuck wouldn't I?
>muh standards compliance
No one truly cares about that, otherwise we would be using strict HTML with few CSS and no JavaScript, AJAX, and all that garbage.

Because they don't tax my system resources, actual smooth scrolling, hyperfast and responsive UI, dark theme and beautiful minimalistic interface.
>>

Edge is faster than IE11 and is more HTML5 compliant. IE11 still has problems displaying some modern webpages. Edge doesn't.
>>

Absolutely yes

I use Edge now because it's fast as hell and has great smooth scroll, fonts, and plays video perfectly. I was using IE11 but Edge is better except for the lack of tracking protection.

Edge is the only browser that can actually scroll somewhat smoothly (dell xps 13). Chrome is ungodly bad plus it drains my battery, and the scrolling on firefox isn't much better. Sometimes it gets so annoying I just use the arrow keys to scroll up and down.

Exactly. My HP gets 2hr 40min battery with Chrome and now 6hrs 10min with edge at 100% capacity. That is a huge fucking benefit for poorfags like me with 6-cell shit batteries.
>>
>>51422656
>is more HTML5-compliant
This doesn't even matter, I haven't come across any site that I can't use on IE.

And don't come at me with scammy HTML5test, use caniuse.com if you're going to talk about standards support.

As to faster, it really isn't on a fast PC.

Editing hosts is an extremely clunky and ineffective method which requires manually updating the file every time, and only with admin privileges no less.

Tracking protection automatically updates lists to the latest versions and has more security features like being able to detect the scripts that load ads and blocking them before the page even renders.

Firfox has fallen so deep into its own shithole, it is unusable now. I barely touch Chrome nowadays when I need sandbox feature to access sites loaded with adware and shady download links. Besides that for most regular usage, IE11/Edge give far better results and font rendering at 150-200% zoom because my eyesight is quite weak.
>>
>>51423109
IE also has had a sandbox since v7. You can improve it by enabling Enhanced Protected Mode.

IE's sandbox relies on UAC so don't disable it.
>>
I use it, Microsoft killed IE for me by constant crashes in Win 10 and no metro IE version.

>>
>>51423198
My battery life is, after the latest update, almost the same as on Win 8.1, but there are already many apps, that do not work on 8.1.
And what works is mostly eagerly abandonware now, so there is no way to return.

Also I forgot, why can't I hide all GUI in Edge as I could in metro IE? I loved the use of the whole screen for displaying the page and simply showing GUI when needed by taping the black bar on the bottom.

>>51423254
Yep, they removed it.
>>
>>51423211
Yes, Windows 10 compositor and Window manager gives beautiful borderless windows with shadow and removes excessive title bars.

Arch fags should be having orgasms due to the amount of darkness and minimalism in 10, but they are still chanting botnet.
>>
Do they have "Save Link As..." yet?
>>
>>51423266
8/8.1/10 are very different operating systems. Metro was only limited to 8.1, now we see aero returning in 10 in a hybrid form to facilitate apps.

try the 1511 build and see for yourself, its worth the free upgrade.

just as a test, go to the iPhone 6s page on apple.com and try scrolling down. IE11 will crash repeatedly. Works fine in Edge. There's probably lots more examples, but that's once I can reproduce.

I can't even import favorites from Firefox to Edge. I would love to try Edge as it doesn't consume memory as much as Firefox and the scrolling is fantastic.

people who are aware of the fact you can change the default browser use chrome, freetards use firefox, the rest are ie and edge users from the moment they get their PC.

>>51422575
Using it since 10 has been rolled out. Once I've tried to use Chrompera, but scrolling and font rendering is so much fucked up, that I've balanced back on the Edge.

It is: fast, no bloatware, optimistic future when extension will be available, though I hope it will not become like any other browsers with add-ons - bloated but not usable without them.

Edge is just a continuation of IE. They simply forked the same engine, added some features and changed the user interface. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartan_browser_rendering_engine

It's just a poor attempt to get away with IE's negative name, which can be mostly attributed to poor security (which security through obscurity actually by definition is) http://www.cvedetails.com/product/9900/Microsoft-Internet-Explorer.html?vendor_id=26

Edge itself also has some nasty insecurities, as could be expected. http://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-26/product_id-32367/year-2015/Microsoft-Edge.html
>>
>>51428054
EdgeHTML doesn't have the legacy code that MSHTML has.

And security vulnerabilities being found is a good thing, not a bad thing.

If you enable Enhanced Protected Mode, IE's sandbox becomes a lot more powerful. Microsoft wanted to enable by default but muh-legacyfags forced them not to.
