Best Linux Distribution for newbies!

I know it's sort of a generic answer, but Ubuntu for sure. Ubuntu MATE is a great way to switch people who are on XP laptops, otherwise I usually use Unity unless the person is specifically interested in Gnome or KDE (I show them all of the desktop environments before switching them).

Explain, nigger. LEAP has worked like a charm on my machines.
Although upgrading from 13.2 was a major pain in the ass and the OpenSUSE wiki was no help (broken commands)
ubuntu minimal + openbox or i3, or any other DEs.
