>"Lizard Squad kids plan to DDoS MS, Sony and Steam on Christmas"

How is there not a way to prevent DDoS attacks in 2015?

Isn't it just a huge income of tasks in a short period of time which overloads the servers, why don't they just up their servers exponentially to deal with all the tasks, would that not work?

There is, though.

Then how come MS and Sony went down on Xmas 2014?

There is, it's called gnunet.

Can you IP range ban basements?

PSN is made of an old IBM laptop and sticky notes
MS doesn't care about preventing it, only getting it back up

most services use cloud-fire.

You can't be this dumb.
>>
>DDoS [...] Steam
No need, the hundred of thousands of people trying to access the store page to buy 90%-off games will take care of that. It happens every year.

There is, and these skiddies are gonna be very disappointed this Xmas.

Or maybe they'll still go around bragging about it at school, replacing the one about how they almost got to touch a bitch's boob once, or maybe even the one about their girlfriend who lives in another state. After all if the bitches think they're taken they won't...they don't let on like they're interested, so while it's a good, believable story, it kind of works against the future basement dweller. Now bragging about being a world-class, hardcore haxz0r, who almost deprived others of his kind from playing their damned video games? Now that'll surely make all the sluts jump right onto their dicklets. Yea, that's it!
>>
They have tried to DDoS Steam several times already, one time in particular I remember them bringing down ONE server for like 3 minutes, after which they went "w-welp steam has good ddos protection!" and acted like it didn't happen.

Also didn't some people fuck them in the ass by fucking up their DDoS order site?

>multi billion dollar companies cannot prevent DDOS attacks

it's 2015
