I got a 2560x1600 monitor for 380 dollars last year.

Anyway, I find that even a 30 inch monitor is a bit too large. I have to move my head while looking at things on the far edges of the screen to get a good view of them. 39 just seems like diminishing returns, especially in 16:9.

Given the specs, you can run CS:GO on a surface pro at acceptable framerates and Full HD. We'll probably not see something like GTA V on a handheld ever, but it's not that surprising that in 5 years almost all serious gaming (I'm even exluding things like fruit ninja) will be done on tablets and smartphones.

Like gaming, even if it's not doable on handhelds now, I see it as something done professionally on a tablet in a few years.

Honestly, if you use an IDE that notifies you of syntax errors, you won't even have to compile more than a few times a day, which was the only advantage of using a desktop.
