Thought the screen would be a shitty gimmick, but it's pretty comfy and doesn't kill the battery somehow. I'm still not used to the buttons 5 months on though.
>>
>>47517283
Damn bro, that plain text must be as crisp as ever. Great investment op
>retard

>>47517283
>I'm still not used to the buttons 5 months on though
>ever buying a phone with the fucking physical buttons on the back of the phone.

The only reason LG even sells phones is because of the few sperglord autists that hate samsung for X retarded reason.
>>
I'm sorry for your loss
>>
Not an expert on phone screens but this one looks nice. Colours look really good, a bit artificial but good.

Removable battery and SD slots are now retarded features? Ok.

>Master fucking race
You have no idea how much better it actually is until you own a G3
>>
Been considering getting this phone. How much can battery last at its best?
I'm not an extreme user, I don't play video games, I don't watch videos that much, so I'm a pretty light user. Can it last at least one whole day?
>>
>1440p
>on a 5" display
What's the point? It's going to look the same as a 1080p or amoled 720 anyways.
>but muh microscope
You have to squint to see the difference.
>>
>>47518347
Yes, with data on and not too heavy usage it can last probably a day and a half at best
>>
>>47518347
i can goto sleep by accident watching a 1080p twitch stream wake up several hours later with maybe 20 percent battery left

Ie. Last night went to sleep watching a stream at 9 woke up at 4 with like 16 percent battery
>>
>>47518347
battery life is good, however a lot of things were sacraficed in the display for that PPI

>In the maximum brightness department, LG noticeably struggles here. While the G2 had around 410 nits peak luminance, the G3 regresses to around 390 nits maximum. I didn’t find any outdoor brightness boost function in this case either. This means that outdoors, the display will be worse than 1080p devices like the One (M8) and Galaxy S5. The other issue is contrast, which is around 900:1. This isn’t actually as bad as most have made it out to be. The big issue with contrast here is how it degrades with viewing angles. In most angles, a black test image will rapidly wash out towards white when viewing the display at oblique angles.

There is one point. The neckbeards that are so nearsighted they can hold it up to their nose and enjoy the HD image.

>Saturations are where LG has gone a bridge too far. While some may enjoy “vivid” color, the saturation compression is insane here. In many cases, 80% and 100% saturations are effectively identical. This can be seen on the red and green sweeps. 60% saturation is often closer to the 80% saturation target. LG really, really needs to either stop doing this or give an option to disable it. This is simply just immensely detrimental to the viewing experience, especially in any situation where color accuracy is actually necessary. Editing photos is effectively impossible on this display because the results will look completely different on most other displays that are closer to following sRGB color standards.

There are better phones with that display resolution out now, LG rushed to get it to market and had to pay the price in quality.

That's pretty funny that the 5c rates higher than the 5s, and by a pretty large margin too.

Didn't expect the N5 all the way up there considering all the corners Google/LG cut with it, but objectively looking at mine, it does have a very nice screen.

Still, all those DeltaE numbers are pretty mediocre. If a desktop display came out with a DeltaE (calibrated) at 1.8, every review site ever would consider it mediocre, bordering on poor. Most decent screens these days that are factory calibrated come out at <3 already. (And hardware calibrating it yourself usually results in less than <1, mine for instance is at 0.4)

Manufacturers really need to stop oversaturating these displays, or at the very least make it easier to calibrate it ourselves.

I also own the G3. It's very mediocre. A solid 5/10. My Z1S was lightyears ahead of this thing.

Lol, whatever kid.
>>
>>47519227
I dunno man, I've met plenty of people who like saturated colours, or say they cant tell the difference.

I agree that calibration should be easier though.
>>
>>47519289
Can back this guy up, S2s and S3s are the biggest pieces of shit, and HTC EVO LTE
>>
>>47519496
HTCs are usually average. I don't get alot of repairs for them. But, holy mother of fuckness... The S3... The bain of my existence. I have between 10 and 25 people A FUCKING WEEK who have broken charging ports on them. They are the WORST smartphone manufacturers as of 4-14-2015.

No shit, fuckwit. But I live in a town of less than 10,000 people. You do the math on the failure rate. Also, I wasn't complaining, I was answering a question. Read the whole fucking thread before you open your stupid fucking mouth.

Tasker or Gravity Screen

>>47519334
Ouch 5/10 really? So far this is the best Android phone I've used, haven't touched anything newer though.

The screen could definitely be brighter. I have issues seeing things outdoors. I live in the desert though and it's rather sunny here.
>>
>>47518412
With moderate usage I get around 2 days, sometimes 3
>>
Nexus 6 owner since launch, love the screen too.
As someone who works at a phone shop, I'd 100000% recommend anyone in the UK to buy a G3. By far the best value phone right now.
>>

I uh, I'm not sure I follow.

You're saying you had a nexus 6 and dumped it for a g3 and love it?
