What the fuck is this throw mcdonalds out.
Tell something about what you've worked on in classes instead.
Not enough HR tags. You did some shit with c, tack visual studio there, if you used some other toolchain, tell about it. You simulates circuits in spice. Into the resume it goes. You might have used some CAD you meenies use. Put it in. HR literally search these things and select resumes that get many matches. Look at >>47412526 he did it right, the whole thing shines with tags, impossible to read but it will be a match for anything.
And do something with that unsightly list of classes you took, these are not course highlights.
In its current form it's not going to do anything.

Yes, too many slashes. The idea is the person reading this is going to spend 10 to 20 seconds on it. Also the bullets don't line up, so I think it's looks bad, but it might just be a little OCD.

Your house, or a different house? I mean... you could fudge it, but I don't know how that would look. Also, you already have the 2010 - 2012 experience.

Maybe I was a little too mean, but seriously, a resume is to get an interview, not the job. It probably by far the best looking resume here, but I've seen far too many employers who make untrue assumptions based on the fact they have to flip over a page. They assume you are full of yourself, or incompetent. Their resume isn't that long, so how "dare" you have a longer one.

Maybe this is just in the US, but I feel that's a large majorities' sentiments.
>>

My opinions:
>1. Backup your Buzzwords
Good idea that I haven't thought of. I always wondered what to do with that.

>2. List Coursework Strategically
>3. Include Your GPA
>4. Don't Ignore What You Did in High School
Nope. Unless you have 0 experience, I don't care about your coursework. The GPA number means nothing when it comes to picking candidates to interview. Unless it really relates to the job you are applying for, I can't see high school helping at all.

>5. Include Books and Conferences
Maybe? It won't hurt (unless it's a very basic book like "for dummies"), but I don't seeing it help a ton. If you need space filled.

>6. Be Specific
>7. Keep it to One Page
>8. Link to Your Personal Website
True. Specific and Stats in work history are greater than everything else. Two pages are the worst, Link to a personal website is awesome (nothing under construction... ever). Also make it mobile and cross browser compatible if you are going for a web dev job.
>>
>>47413477

Not super interested in the amount of the Scholarships, but how you earned them. Regardless, I'm much more interested in the Engineering Org president. What is that? Can you throw down a line saying what you did and why it's awesome?

Maybe someone else here can agree or disagree, but I feel the balance or alignment is a little off. The `honors and leadership` and `education` feel like their second column is two far to the left, when `certifications and technical skills`'s column is over to the right.

no

It's just the reality of the world we live in that most people don't really do shit before they're 25.

Just do some shit on the side like your own projects or contribute to some open source project or find a part time job, etc.
>>
>>47412620
Take out the Objective; people know you're applying for an internship.

Take out Gen Chem; no one cares. Advanced Engineer Math tells me nothing and Diff EQ & Linear Algebra are already enough math courses for highlights.

What do you do outside of class? Or at least some form of discretionary effort that shows you'll do more than the bare minimum of the job description? You don't have to join clubs, but even just side projects that are in some way relevant to your development are good to include.

Take out McDonalds; it's completely irrelevant to the internships you're applying for and is interchangeable with no prior work experience. It actually has negative overtones that you would think it's pertinent to include.

>before I answer, he cuts me off and says "No one gives a shit"
>"Common sense and experience means everything"
>>
>>47413967
Does anyone normally include their GPA? Normally saying something like "graduated with honors" or "magna cum laude" generally explains what needs to be said.
>>
>>47413967

3.0 is usually the cutting point and there might a slim 1% of jobs that go as low as 2.75 which, if you see it on a job you're applying to, it's probably better to include it if you can.

For the 99% of job that have higher GPA requirements, no.

The titles either need to be bigger, or not centre jusified.

Their tiny little lines.

No one gives a fuck about your scholarships.

'Promoted 1st month' no one gives a fuck.

It's also way to specific.

You need to have a few generic lines. And then add in those specific towards the job.

>dat clarity

Some of your stuffs too wordy. But the headings and layout are nice.

I would try justifying your lists under 'skills' so that the second line of examples were under the first. So that there's white space between the titles(Programming[...] Design & [...] Office Tools.

Mite look better or not.

Turn Office tools into a more general thing. Operating Systems, M$ office, Virtual Machines, Web Servers, Github etc.

Question:

If I have a resume for some kind of computer related job and I have no experience yet, still trying to get my foot in the door, would it be helpful to include that I have been working at a nursing home for 2.5 years to show commitment, or would it be better if I just left that out?

Also, how the fuck do I my foot in the door? I'm tired of wiping asses here.

>The GPA number means nothing when it comes to picking candidates to interview.

I don't see how people take this position. I get it if the person is two or three years removed from college with significant experience, but if nothing else, a good GPA shows a person isn't lazy. Let's be honest, it doesn't mean they're necessarily smart, but it does mean they can apply themselves. College really isn't that much different than work when you're starting out. You have no responsibility other than to carry out what other people tell you to do, and a GPA shows that you can do that effectively - even if the major has nothing to do with anything else.
>>
>>47414306
When you're starting out, and empty like most of the resumes here, you need to fluff and add specific shit in for specific jobs.

In your skills section how did you divide it into two groups like that?
>>
>>47418439
You mean the Top 5? It does that automatically. Go to the top of your profile (log in first) and click the "view as" button that is near your photo

Don't be so greedy. Release it under GPL. That way, people using your code should at least make their code free software too.

>grossly under-qualified (no college) military fag

Use subjectivity in your cover letters
Use numbers (X many projects, Y% performance inspection rating, etc.) in your resume
Be concise with why you are good at what you're applying for by using the numbers above (IT faggot-
-had a discrepancy resolution rating of 98% across 1,300 trouble tickets
-led 5 training events, preventing 1,000 hours of system downtime
-etc.)

Hope this helps; I've scored a few offers for jobs that I have no business doing if you compare me to somebody with a degree.

Is it common in burgerland to include GPA on your resume?

Here in the maple syrup capital of the world we just put what diplomas we have and potential employers will just ask to see our full transcript if they want to.

This maybe off topic, but do any anons use Linkedin/Google+ to list their skills?

What?
>>
>>47420928
Linkedin? Yes. Google+? No.
Linkedin is also used for networking.
>>
Hi, this is mine. Any remark ?
I'm french and I will be seeking an internship in september 2016 in the USA.

Is someone has some tips or remarks (including misspelling) on my resume ?
>>
>>47420928
I used LinkedIn, as LinkedIn is made for business networking. No other social networking however, especially not G+/Facebook. I'm not CS, but it seems a lot of people here are involved in communities like Git and StackExchange, if that means anything to you.
