I also later saved money to buy a 900W PSU because I didn't think about power requirements and so my old PSU died. I overshot my system's power usage by a shit ton, falling into the "future upgrades" trap.
The card now sits in my older brother's PC playing CS:GO or whatever the fuck he does on it.

I have a shitty old PCI graphics card like this. It's actually quite useful for troubleshooting if your PCIe graphics card fails and you dont have integrated graphics or any other way to see a video output (ofc you need a VGA adapter, though). It might not have had four color graphics like the CGA cards all my friends had but it kicked every other PC's ass when it came to resolution (720×348 vs 320x200). Playing the original SimCity on this baby was great. Losing two colors was a good trade off for the much clearer picture.
