Console killing/maximum aesthetics gaming rigs when?
I just want something small. I'm so tired of lugging around 300 sheet metal fortresses.
It's a custom caseby GTek computer design
I don't kow if you can buy it
>Tfw you will never have a truly aesthetic computer
>Tfw 90C idle and 200dB Titan burning it down when you play crysis
Best i've seen is the Rosewill Legacy cases (aka Jonsbo). Has a version without window too.
>turn on computer
>it flies away
>The console killer
even steamboxes are overpriced as fuck. this thing won't be able to compete either in price or performance (dat single-slot GPU). and the "plank of wood" design probably only appeals to hipster fagets and not console gaymen fagets.
>not ncase m1
>pc perspective case of the year 2014
any. the ncase m1 isn't your typical ITX case.
I've been contemplating buying the c2 for a long time, seeing as it's half as expensive as the N1, smaller, and can still support flex-mATX, and has enough room for a 270 or a 750 Ti.
If you think about it you'd be lugging about the same weight anyway. Unless you remove a lot of the parts inside. If you just have a motherboard, ssd, and a gpu inside most mid sized cases its pretty damn light already.
>shitty edgy indie platformers with a twist
Meanwhile consoles get AAA exclusives
Also, i never said what was better. I stated a fact which is console exclusives are what makes people buy one brand over another assuming they're not moronic fanboys
Making an aesthetically pleasing pc wont make them switch
the 960 is a fucking garbage card. the price performace is awful. get the 970, but then you have crippled ram and the feel of getting buttraped by nvidia. there are some mini versions of the 285 and the 270x.
That looks a like a nicer version of my case.
in b4 someone says uncharted
idk why but i dont consider games like uncharted AAA. games that are backed by sony/MS have alot more freedom than Ubi/activision etc
they are'nt pressured with yearly installments, deadlines. and no day one patches and gamebreaking bugs and such.
with the exception of MCC these games dont get released completely broken
its above AAA imo
halo 1 and 2 were actually good but the rest is shit. and the first two parts are available on pc so your argument is invalid.
comes later to pc. i guess sony and ms paid r* for the delay because the consolefags will be pretty disappointed if they see the graphics on the pc, plus the ability for a shitton of modding which will make the game timeless (look at skyrim).
gonna build in a [email protected],[email protected],32V, 32GB RAM, 390X and a fucking ATX Board and not a shitty ITX
hope those Noctua industrial coolers will keep that fucker cool enough with the NH-C14
also why FFS has no one produces a 395x395x200 case for airtraveling that doesnt look like ass
I dont fucking want microATX or shitty ITX
the engineer made a build guide so it's possible to build one for yourself if you really want to:
it's actually part serious because it's an actual functioning mini fridge. but it's also a joke with the "ultrachiiilll" and it being posted on april fools day and all.
>System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 624W
>Mind you that the system wattage is measured at the wall socket side
so assuming 90% PSU efficiency that's about 560W at full stress. you can fit short ATX power supplies up to like 140mm (non-modular) such as the 125mm Nexus NX-5000 V1 550W Real Silent PSU, or you can fit the 600W SFX or 500W SFX-L PSU. like 3 different brands have versions of the 600W SFX power supply but silverstone is supposed to have the best one.
also this was tested with:
>Core i7 3960 Extreme (Sandy Bridge-E) @ 4.6 GHz on all six cores
you'll draw less power with a 4790K (even if overclocked) or a lower power CPU of course.
...a wood plank!?
I have the 901. It's my favorite case I've ever owned.
People don't understand that it actually runs really cool.
Never gonna upgrade. When I sell old guts I slap em into a cheap gayman case.
I had the FT02. Definitely not a bad case, but I don't feel it was worth the money.
>spending $270 on a case
Do people actually do this? Why?
Too much cheap plastic and too little space to properly manage your cables for the price of this case.
But apart from that it had the best aircooling I ever experienced in a build. Having a quiet case was really easy with that thing.
Wouldn't buy it again tho.
For the price of the 550D I'd rather take a Define R5 that doesn't come with the "remove your front IO connections before opening the door" issue.
I'd also get a NZXT H440 or S320 if NZXT would offer a windowless version.
What does a $300 case bring to the table that a $100 case doesn't? It's just a shell for the computer, as long as it has decent airflow, decent aesthetics, enough room for your components and dust filters, what more could you possibly hope for? All these are present in many ~$100 cases, such as the official meme case of /g/, the Fractal Design R4.
This is exactly the point. Decent aesthetics is a very subjective term to describe a case. While some might think a gaudy NZXT Phantom looks absolutely gorgeous, others might vomit at the sight of it.
Talking about functionality then there's basically next to none differentiation. Each case houses PC components and is able to provide cooling for them.
It's just a matter of preference what case you'll end up with. And if you have the extra dough to blow and don't mind paying extra, why not?
~$100 cases are usually made of plastic and steel, look like shit and have lots of shitty little details such as crappy hard drive bays. the ncase m1 for instance is $185 and is made entirely of aluminium, the exterior panels are anodized brushed aluminium, and it's simply unrivaled in size, aesthetics as well as hardware support for its size. if you don't care what your computer looks like, how big it is, what it weighs, what it feels like, how much noise it makes, then fine, buy any ~$100 case that supports the hardware you want to put it in it.
I'd love a modern G4 cube. Small formfactor dedicated GPU, full bay HDD's.
I just can't get behind window designs. I don't have anyone who'd know what the fuck is going on inside the case want to actually look at it anyhow. The bright ass illumination tends to just be ignored either.
My case is just a black steel box tucked away. Is this normal, or have I stumbled into pleb tier shit?
it's normal. i don't know what i was thinking as a teen with the bright ass cold cathodes and LEDs. now i'd have at most an unlit side window but only for some baller custom watercooled build with perfect tubing and cable management.
