not really, I have a 250GB SSD in my x201 but looks like I am only using 25GB, how good are SandDisk with SSD,
>>
>>45451190

SandDisk are good and fast. The prices are ok... If you just want speed, Samsung 840 EVO. Reliability, Intel. Great price to reliability and performance, SandDisk, Kingston, AData, Mushkin.

If you're a dumbass like me, a 60gb OCZ ssd. Reliable fast low power but with a 120mb/s peak... yea...
>>
How much should i be paying for a good condition X201 or x220 tablet with 4g ram? Also how viable is an x200 tablet with 4 gigs of ram for running windows 8 with a few drawing program and maybe a lightweight distro, as in will it be too slow for me to even want to use it? I've seen a few videos of win8 on the core duo tablets but if like /g/'s input before pulling the trigger

I've seen this af the infographic in the wiki, neither answered the performance questions I had about the x200 tablet though, just wanted to make sure I didn't get an x200 for a hundred that turns out useless and then wish I would have just forked over a bit more for a x220 or x201
>>
>>45453164
Well it's a C2D ULV chip so it's not going to be blazing fast but it should cope with 1080p video.

So /tpg/, I've had the chance to use a T440p for the last day or so as I've had to set it up for a family member.

My daily driver is a M4800.

Good things:
Trackpoint is really nice compared to the shitty Dell trackpoint

Keyboard feel is nicer than the Dell, more crisp keys. I really prefer it over the M4800 keyboard feel

Uses M.2 cards

Bad things:
Keyboard layout is absolutely shit, there's no way around it

Clickpad is horrible, requires too much activation force and is loud

Build is poor in places, the LCD panel assembly is really quite flimsy

Port layout is poor as the USB 3 ports are too close together

No HDMI port

Speaker is shit

Any questions?
>>
>>45453514
Does it feel like it would break if accidentally dropped?
>>
I have a x230 as my laptop and I am wondering if it would be retarded to get the usb compact keyboard for my desktop... I kind of wanted the same typing experience ony desktop but the new keyboard doesn't have palm rest and it has even fewer buttons than my laptop. Is there a cheap way to get the replacement keyboard working with usb or ps2 interface so I don't lose buttons?
>>
>>45453559
The base feels solid, but the magnesium rollcage has been removed?

It's a plastic laptop so it would crack when you drop it.

I think this could get away with one drop over its lifetime.

The Dell is made out of aluminium with a magnesium rollcage so it would dent instead of crack.
>>
>>45453514

Exactly how much better is that than the t420? Honestly the aesthetic of the thinkpad is better while they both seem the same in price/specs, and I've heard good things about the thinkpads keyboards. If this one brings something else to the table I'd definitely consider it.
>>

much better hinges, lol looks good cause metal, great matte display?

but then again, this is a tp thread
>>
>>45456012
Not him but X61T owner here, you can put any full-size 2.5" SSD in it.
>>
>>45456127
which SSD are good these days that dont cost to much 60/120GB.
>>
>>45456141
If you don't plan to upgrade the laptop soon while keeping the ssd, anything currently produced saturates sata2 so only think about reliability/warranty. Might as well get something old if it's on good sale, older (more nm) chips are supposed to have more write cycles (as if that matters).
I have an ancient OCZ SandForce drive so you might as well discard my opinion.
>>
>>45456012
I'm using an "old" samsung 830 from when they were ~$100, you can probably do a LOT better today
