i guess the highest you can install will be 10.6

Why no run it on VM?

There was a thread on tonymacx86.com some time ago about getting a retail install of 10.7 working on a w520. Not sure if that'll help any, but that's all I got.

Did you try the iAtkos version yet?
Remember you need a few tries to get it working and check first if your wifi/bluetooth is compatible otherwise it will never work
