Now /g/, we're pretty much all doing Maths here. What are you using?

Picture related, it's the Kuru Toga Mechanical Pencil (0.5mm lead).

Pens, pencils, calculators etc. are welcome.
No desktops, tablets, or phones please - even if they're your calculators.
Calculator software (Matlab, Wolframalpha etc.) are welcome.

Loving this mechanical pencil. It's metal too, so it's not plastic.

Really?
>>
>>45266624
Whatever people are using. Personally I'm using it to verify some of my answers. I should probably be using Matlab instead though, seeing as I took the time to *cough* acquire it.
>>

a bic pencial and a big eraser. god you have to look like the biggest autist with this thing

a pencil. I bought a pack of 50 for $5
an eraser
a stack of plain paper
a clear plastic ruler

that's all I need, that's what's best
when I study something, I don't try to make my notes look pretty
I watch lecture videos, I take notes as I go along, which I end up throwing out
I write down notes that I keep for longer for really important things that are difficult to remember
I then do problem sets
>>
>no computers, tablets, etc

Nope.

I use my thinkpad x220t's pen function so much when I do math. I just love being able to have a mathematica window right next to a window I do my scratch work on. Does it feel as well as a good mechanical pencil on a notebook? No. But it is very convenient.
>>
Med student reporting. Writing prescriptions (that feel when can't sign) with pic related makes you feel badass as fuck.

Also, pens/pencils general?

What if it has an active stylus and I use it for handwritten notes in all of my classes instead or paper?
Its works really well. I have shitty handwriting, but its only marginally better on paper. The convenience of digital notes is fantastic.

Have been using a Parker like this for at least a decade and is definitely my favorite thing to write with. The balance is always at 2/3 which is perfect in my book.

I even accidentaly dropped it from my window and it feel to the street like 20m below. Barely had a scratch.

I use a Pentel Graphgear 1000 .3mm. Metal body, doesn't break or cause other problems with the pencil mines, very reliable. And if you have small handwriting but want to use color fineliners, Edding 1800 pens are available with 0.1 stroke width.

My all-purpose pen.
The pressure point is basically non-existant, so my hands don't get tired, which was always the worst thing about written exams anyway.

Nice try, you still have a fucking pressure point when pressing the ball.

where can buy replacement erasers for cheap? shipping is crazy where I bought the pencil from.

Appears to be discontinued. I have two.

I have many other pencils, but the regulator is the ultimate.

$3 from Goodwill. Best. Calculator. Ever. (Except maybe the HP Prime but I'm too poor for that.)

Any other classes I'll need it for? I'm almost done with Discrete and a Math Foundations course. Only general programming courses after that.

Maybe algorithms?

>>
>>45272900
Yes it is. The OS is so well put together compared to the clusterfuck of the TI calculators with it's 5 million different menus. This just has the stack, some functions, and some menus to automate the functions. It's simplicity at it's best.

Here's most of what i have thats interesting. I'm more interested in mechanical pencils than pens as shown.

I can get a closer shot of an individual pencil if if requested.
>>
>>45275085
Is your preppy fairly unforgiving? I have to have the perfect rotation and inclination (which happens to be an awkward position for me) to get it to write without skipping all the time.
It's nice when it actually writes though.

At times it can be, but when i was using it i got used to to and was pretty impressed for a cheap pen.

Also there is an article somewhere where someone made it an eyedropper fountain pen with an o ring and vasiline on the threads.
