Can somebody please identify the ones I marked in a red question mark?

Also, don't mind the tiers, we all know /vg/agdg is retarded.
>>
That thing is all kind of wrong.
One of those is
http://polycode.org/features/
by the way.
>>
>>42984226
oh and I didn't really look at the rest, the one is
http://flixel.org/
I don't know the other ones.
>>
>>42984226
Thanks, and yes, I know...

4 to go..
>>
>>42984269
You could probably crop and reverse image search them.
>>
>>42984263
Thanks again!
>>
>hurr I want 2 maek gaem XD
>programming? writing software? nah that's 2hard4me only n3rds do that XDDDD

I want the underaged to leave
>>
>>42984290
I'm 24, BEng Computer Systems.

I want to make a gaym as a hobby.

I know, but we would not have this nice thread...

2 down, 3 to go....
Is the one with the '2' not the valve engine? How is it called source?
>>
>>42984453
Naw, take it to >>>/vg/agdq
>>
>>42984469
fuck I meant >>>/vg/agdg
>>
gear I think is gamemaker I might be wrong
>>
>>42984501
gear with the green in it I mean
>>
>>42984526
Yes, it is. Thanks.
>>
Gear = GameMaker Studio
One next to it = Construct 2

Other ones you don't know are shit (well inferior to ones above).
>>
>>42984555
thanks!

>>42984195
>not making a game tear c/c++ with opengl
Is this bait?

This is the only bugger I can't identify...
Reverse image search and /vg/agdg didn't help.
>>
>>42984620
its an inept retarded game dev with no programming knowledge guide thats why those are therw
>>
>>42984703
Nah, it's because if you are using OGL and c/c++ you'll spend your time making an engine, and most likely wont make a game after that...
>>
>>42984702
found it, haxe.

Ok, /g/ wehy don't we make a better version of this to show /vg/agdg who is the boss?
>>
>>42984905
God tier: OpenGL + C
Shit tier: Everything else
>>
>>42984195
>ogre
>shit teir
wat
also
>no irrlicht
>>
>>42984905
because /g/ doesn't make games
/g/ only complains that games are not open sourced
because they are retards
>>
>>42984773
You make the game engine WITH the game. That's why it's better: because you only implement features that you need, as you need them.
>>
>>42984773
That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK7ntA7a2vk
>>
>>42986370
or you know, you can use the knowledge of hundreds of people working for thousands of hours and pay them $19 a month
and get the best game engine ever

but yeah, you can probably make a better game with your own engine!
>>
>>42984195
game maker, construct 2, polycode, haxe?, flixel?
>>
>>42986427
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g063gr1SPWU
>entire game and engine made by two european dudes in about one year
>>
>>42984702
>>42984905

Actually this is haxeflixel, a port of the flixel framework and game engine in Haxe.

I'm using it right now.
>>
>>42986427
By working with an engine designed to be flexible and easy to use, you lose efficiency.

Because of this, the complexity of your game is limited.
>>
>those c+ogl fags don't understand that game needs, physics, sound, input, networking, window handling, etc etc etc

Enjoy drawing some sprites and tea pots.
>>
>>42984195
>libgdx in shit tier
FFuck man. I'm using that as a small group project for a 2d game

Is it really that bad?
>>
>>42986527
>window management - sdl or gflw or make your own
>physics - make your own or bullet or newton or ODE
>sound - make your own or OpenAL
>input - same thing that you use for window management
>networking - dont be a pussy, make your own.
Its really not hard.
>>
>>42986527
>implying you can't just import small efficient libraries for those things

It's still way better than a bloated game engine.
>>
>>42986533
No, LibGDX is great, i dont know what the fuck that image is talking about
>>
>>42986533
>>42986574
Image thinks OGRE3d is shit teir and Unity/Unreal4 is best teir.
Image creator couldnt code for his life, therefore, any game engines that required coding to use were instantly "bad"
>>
>>42986550
if you're ok with using all those 3rd party libraries, why are you being a retard and writing the most complex part yourself?
>>
>>42986590
>>42986574
OK thanks. I was worried there might be better alternatives and that we have been using an interior api. We are currently thinking of using ue4 for 3D projects, but is it really the best option for a small team? Are there better engines out there?
>>
>>42986550
One more that people don't think about:
>font loading and text rendering - FreeType
>>
>>42986638
Game engines just wrap all that stuff together.
However, in doing so the overall product is less efficient.
To some, it's not worth it.
>>
>>42986646
SDL_freetype and SDL_Image is very useful as well.
>>42986638
So you can customize the important parts. If you need a complex audio setup with voxel based echo computation, make it yourself. If you need a really slim physics engine that runs entirely on GPU, make it yourself. If you need the render to be very specific, make it yourself.
This is effectively e what ogre3D does, but the ogre3D rendering engine is the one set thing, all the libs you can make yourself or use others.
Also, its a learning experience.
>>
>>42986533
If you're using it then shouldn't you know?
>>
>>42986642
ue4 is definitely the best if you're actually interested in producing a game and not messing around.
>>
>>42986776
We found it and thought it was the best bet so we rolled with it

I'm just asking for future projects
>>
>>42986845
Since you already have experience with that engine, unless you have a clear reason to switch, dont.
>>
What are some good, open source game engines/development kits that will run on GNU/Linux? I asked in the AGDG thread and got an answer, but I'd like to also ask you guys.

The answer was Blender Game Engine, along with something called Orgit?
>>
>>42986845
As long as it's not giving you problems and you have no other reason to switch I would say stick with it.
>>
>>42986921
There's a few blogs that have lists but you can't post them because it trips the spam autoban.
>>
>>42986921
BGE is good, but... its rather blender-y.
Ogre is good, requires a lot of coding.
Irrlicht3d is also good, not as good as ogre. Also requires coding.
>>
>>42986965

Is there any way you could give me a hint and I'll look for it myself?

>>42987015

I'm looking into Ogre right now. Thanks.
>>
>>42987114
"freegamer" is one I like.
>>
>>42986921
>Blender Engine

Coded in Python to guarantee the majority of your processing power goes into interpreting the code, rather than executing it.
>>
>>42987114
>>42987143
Also
http://osgameclones.com/
>>
>>42987179
Blender game engine (and blender itself) is coded in C.
Only scripting is done in python.
