>Build Quality (4/5)
>Comfort (4/5)
>Sound (8.8/10)

>The bass put out by the single balanced armature is extremely tight and controlled but the tiny drivers don’t move a whole lot of air - those looking for eardrum-quaking gobs of impact will be sorely disappointed. Instead, the bass is quick and highly detailed. The speed and clarity of the earphones allows them to texture notes in ways lower-end sets simply cannot but opinions will undoubtedly be split on whether such a presentation is ‘natural’. For those who think ‘natural’ sound hinges on realistic attack and decay times as well as note weight and presence, a dynamic-driver earphone will provide more satisfactory bass response. On if the other hand if ‘natural’ means hearing all of the nuances on the the track down to the tiniest detail (including mastering and compression flaws), the HF5 leaves little to be desired. No matter how dense the track, the HF5 never misses a beat. Low end extension is quite linear down to around 30Hz - no exaggerated sub-bass or mid-bass bloat to be found here. Interestingly, the dynamic-driver Etymotic MC5 responds to equalization a little better than the HF5 does but in both cases even the best equalizer can only do so much - those looking for rumbling, full-bodied bass will want to stay away from Etys.

Your claims contradicts the links you posted.

>>42272497

I maintain that the KSC75 with headband is the best of the entire bunch in terms of sound for your dollar.
>>
>>42269565
I would say it's more vocal. fine for certain kinds of music, but the fr has alot of dips and hills, it also lacks sub-bass which the v6/7506 has. once you eq down the treble spike the 7506 is better for more kinds of music. also cheaper.
>>
>>42272505
>KSC75 with headband
which? there are atleast 3 that have headbands that use the same driver. the sportapro, that one with the blue gel band, and the 40s.
>>
>>42272546

PartsExpress headband is the one I was thinking about.

The combination looks completely poverty, but it's light-weight and sounds nice.
>>
>>42272555
link? how do you attach them to the ksc-75?
>>
>>42272567

The connector that the headband connects to the shitty PartsExpress driver are exactly the same as the connection that the clips on the KSC75 use to attach to the KSC75 drivers.

Just Google "KSC75 Partsexpress" and I'm sure you'll find all the info required.

>>
I bought a k612 with out amp will it still sound fine?
>>
>>42272667

Sportapro's housing results in a significant bass boost. That's the primary downside.

There's also a driver difference. The Sportapro actually has the KSC35, rather than the KSC75 driver. Measurements are nicer on the KSC35's drivers, so you could do a Sportapro + PartsExpress combo as well.
>>
>>42272840
how do these differ from the portapro? all I know is some koss phones use a similar driver with some kind of titanium coating?
>>
>>42272814
yes, but an amp would probably give a bit of benefit.
>>
>>42272907
I've used both the PortaPro driver and the KSC75 driver (Both on a PortaPro headband) The KSC75 driver has more detailed treble and can't handle as much bass. Honestly I prefer the PortaPro driver.
>>
>>42272907

Changstar has some measurements comparing the KSC35/Portapro/Sportapro driver and the KSC75 driver.

HD600 are the best headphones in their price range at $400. $280 is a ridiculous deal, jump on that.

Really.
>>
>>42280319
DT880 is much better.

HD600 has terrible build quality as well.

So I've heard. Honestly though, build quality doesn't matter too much to me. I plan on modding it for comfort anyways.

If that is all it is try opening them up and soldering the wires back on. It isn't very hard and if they are already broken you have nothing to lose.

HD558. Read the post above the one you're replying to.

You're replying to a troll.

>On deep bass tracks, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the HD 558 reaches maximum volume without a hint of distortion.
>The added spatial presence allows the bass to simultaneously sound powerful without overpowering the other crucial elements of the mix.
http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/headphones/1281628/sennheiser-hd-558
>We were particularly impressed by their bass reproduction, which was rich and warm without overwhelming the rest of the sound.
http://www.headphonesfordummies.com/2011/06/sennheiser-558-review.html
>The HD 558's are insanely neutral sound signature, they focus almost evenly on the mids and highs with really strong and detailed bass to back it up
http://www.headfoneshop.com/blog/2011/05/29/sennheiser-hd-558-review/
>For bass, I threw it “Love Lockdown” (Kayne West) and “Hip-Hop” (Dead Prez), damn… these headphones are just amazing. The bass wasn’t strong, but I loved the tight, crisp thumping of lower frequencies and there were no distortions even during the heavy bass parts.

>>
>>42280821
These are terribly engineered headphones with heavy distortion, excessive resonance, shit-tier comfort and extremely harsh treble. When you buy Grado you're literally buying an intentionally under-engineered piece of shit with targeted treble peaks, because that's the Grado sound.
>>
>>42280910
No Grado was made with superior design and precision fabrication. Due to the vents it produces a natural soundstage much like listing to speakers. It has a smooth deep bass and is hand crafted so you can be sure of a high quality build.
>>
>>42280910
Nigga, are you high? Grado's are some of the best soundign headphones around(especially for rock and such) Yeah the comfort department could use some work but as far as build quality goes I've always found their simplicity to be their saving grace; it's hard to break something so barebones.......makes 'em really light too, which is great.....also most people seem to agree with me since only here(troll central) are Grados considered "bad"
>>
Grados are garbage.
>>
>>42280910
I'd take a SR80i over the dull, boring and muffled HD558 every time.

Sennheisers are shit, kid. Deal with it.

The 770's be better to get for general listening since their bass response is apparently higher? Which would be smarter to get; the 32 or 80 ohm for everyday use around the house?
>>
>>42283268
The DT770 are significantly worse than the DT250. The DT250 has just the right amount of bass and treble. The DT770 has too much bass and treble at the expense of the midrange.

>>
>>42283132
there is a dedicated group of shitposters who only post in these threads. why? because of autism. you can't even call it trolling since all their responses are the same and in many cases copy + paste. they do this because they're on some kind of crusade against certain brands. honestly head-fi is better now since apparently constant shitpoting isn't a banable offense.
>>
>>42287433
>apparently constant shitpoting isn't a banable offense.
which is bullshit cause I got banned for a few days because I told someone to stop bitching about the Anime girls posted in here.
>>
How do I get more subbass out of my HD600?

I'm using an O2 amplifier.
>>
>>42287494
the thing is mods can be very fickle. they will ban for a single post that rubs them the wrong way with a minimal ban. this happens way to often compared to the number of times they ban for shitposting because it's probably down as censorship in moot's rules. I don't think they ever actually look at one poster's history and ban them for a pattern of things. they probably don't zero in on /hpg/ because they mod an entire board, so when they see one of these posts they just think "oh it's another regular fuck you post nothing to see here" even though that post is really a piece of spam in a flood of spam aimed solely at /hpg/. it used to be just m50 vs v6, a kind of meme, then sennheiser "veil" came along and it's been getting worse since then.

I've got some m-50s and I'm loving them, but I've been using them for everything and it feels like taking them out to uni with me everyday is going to bring the poor things to an early grave.

So I'm looking for some decent headphones ideal for everyday out-and-about wear.
>>
>>42287531
Parametric EQ, preferably Equalizer APO (which is system-wide), or if you're a pleb, EasyQ through Foobar's VST support.
20 Hz, gain 6.5 dB, Q 1.3
Preamp: -6.5 dB
There. Now your sub-bass is a straight line all the way through the midbass.

hey guys

I was wondering what is the best usb soundcard that is the cheapest?

One that has a headphone jack, and maybe RCA ports, that just connects to a usb port.

My laptop soundcard is broken, the headphone port at least, and it would cost too much to replace... I would rather get a new pc..

So an external soundcard that doubles as an amp... best one for lowest price...

need suggestions
