hey fit im wondering do i really need a strength base? for somthing like PHUL? i did 5x5 for 6 months 2 years ago and I was doing a brosplit in the mean time but i switched to phul 2 weeks ago and im curious if I need to have big numbers to do the program bench - 1pl8 squat - 1pl8 deadlift - 1pl8 and everything else is under 1pl8

I'm a relative beginner on PHUL (lifting for 8 months).
I would honestly just replace some of the meme exercises with presses. For example, some PHUL workouts have diddlys, squiddlys, biddlys, and ohiddlys 1xweek, I would just replace (or add) an exercise so its 2x week.
I do squats and deadlifts on both of my Lower days, and bench on both of my upper days (I only do Ohiddlys 1x week though).
