New to my fire department and we trained in a fire simulator inside a container and it really surprised me how much heat can tire you. What are some tips/training to handle extreme heat better?

Sit in the sauna, and do more anaerobic exercises.
Build up cardiovascular health.

Just a thot, but wrapping yourself up in saran wrap and/or exercising in saunas the way boxers do to lose water weight might help.

To add, nothing will actually make you "used to" the heat. Remember your PPE is there to protect.
You can only get more endurance and overcome the heat.
