Noob gains are not a maximal type thing. It's simply a matter of progression which can be based on any number of factors. Some people can consistently make gains on linear progression programs for up to 3 years. Some start to see stalls before a year is up. Either lift until your linear progress slowing or switch routines once you've reached intermediate level strength for your weight and age
