Anyone here ever get their gallbladder removed?
What changes did you have to make to your diet after you got it out? The doctor says I'll be able to eat whatever I want but I'm skeptical

if you eat too much fat, you are prone to diarrhea
i didn't give it too much attention, because it was not anything major
but years later I started losing weight, and having issues to have decent energy levels
now I do high carb and low fat, and I am fine again

I keep finding mentions of ox bile and digestive enzymes, know anything about those?

I think if you have a decent diet you don't need any suplements
and you can even eat all the fat you want
is more about a functional thing
eat 2 slices of pizza one day, nothing happens
eat a whole pizza in one sitting, and the bile ends up in the intestine, that triggers the diarrhea, and you literally end up crapping all the acids. it is like taking a dump after eating spicy food, but there is no spices, and only your bile (and it literally burns)
if you want to eat fat on the regular, just do it in tiny amounts throughout the day
What's yours getting removed for OP? I've been dealing with what my doc suspects is GERD. Basically been nauseous for 3 months straight, and can't eat anything greasy or fatty without feeling like I need to go to an emergency room. He offered to remove my gallbladder if the PPIs I'm on don't help, but I'm not super excited to have it done
Had mine removed four years ago. Doc said I wouldn't be able to eat fatty foods again without shitting myself.
I kept my baconator diet strong though and now I can eat fatty foods just fine.
tl;dr never listen to physicians and follow your dreams

this explains a lot actually

Apparently it's pumping out only %11 of what it should. Basically feels like a balloon is inflating in my chest with a stabbing feeling whenever I eat anything remotely fatty or oily

Okay..kinda

Was that from a HIDA scan? That sounds a lot like what I've been having, but mine came back at 38%. Which is on the fence since 35% is the cutoff, but still "normal". But I can't workout or eat anything but bread. Hopefully you'll feel better after the procedure

I got it removed over 13 years ago and I eat what ever I want and have never had any issues. Also before I got it removed I had these attacks that put me in hospital several times as it was legit the most painful experience of my life. Since it was removed that never happened again.

It was from a HIDA scan. Part of me wishes to keep it cause I'm worried it'll fuck up my lax eatting lifestyle but the pains ain't worth it so whatever. Already lost 20lbs anyway.

Experiences seem to vary so drastically from person to person. I wonder what luck I'll have
Your body adjusts VERY quickly. I got it taken out young (14, was a fat loser) and within a couple weeks I was eating like normal, fats don't affect my shits at all. The retarded doc that took over a year, 3 xrays and CT scan sesh to figure out i had gallstones said it can cause complications later in life though (50yo+)
