People are so fucking stubborn I swear
>In the gym squatting
>Guy is in the corner with terrible form using one of those dumb hex barbells
>The guy is like 6'4 and he's having trouble lifting lmao2pl8, his entire back is curling while he lifts
>He puts another 25 on the rack and struggles to lift it, putting tremendous stress on his lower back, he's grunting too
>It hurts to look at so I go on over
>"Hey buddy you want me to help you rerack on a normal barbell? I don't want you to throw out your back."
>"Nah nah man, actually this barbell has a better center of gravi-"
>"Okay do whatever you want."
>10 minutes later I'm in the leg press machine when suddenly
>"AAAH MY BACK!"
>mfw the gym had to call 911 after he tried to lift 3 plates
I'm pretty sure he got a hernia but I'm not sure, I haven't seen him since.

Should have recorded it.
Also guessing he was deadlifting? Hex bars are good but obviously excessive use of the spinal errectors ie. bent back, is a straight route to snap city.

>>42841246
Doesn't sound like you were being very helpful
>>
>>42841246
Should I help people? I guess it depends. If it's like they're doing something obviously wrong then maybe. Maybe not smaller stuff cause I might be wrong. Maybe I should just ignore them and only help if asked?
>>
>>42841246
>actually helping other people
>not letting nature take its course and reduce competition for you
ok friendo
>>
>>42843219
This.

I only help if I see they are doing something too fucking wrong to watch. Otherwise I just let them be. Most people won't listen you out and will think that their bodybuilding.com tier form/routine is ok.

Tfw those people can't diddly more than 2 plates because "muh lower back hurts".

cool story OP
>>
Always ignore, focus on yourself. First of all, most people won't appreciate your help, they will think you are attacking them. Secondly, you are wasting your time and getting nothing in your return. Thirdly, at some point they might realise it is smart to ask someone who is big/strong enough, so let your actions speak louder than words.

Despite what 4chan says, I think it takes a true man to try and be helpful. Being able to do the right thing without the fear of what people may think.
