my jerk is really limiting cause of timing problems I have from lack of time spent in the sport a lack of overhead stability and a relative lack of upperbody strength when compared to my legs ability to generate power, I could probably clean like 120-130 rn but no way in hell could I jerk it(despite being able to jerk drive it high enough to do so which is even weirder)

Not gonna lie, this is kind of why I switched. I hated that I have to basically do sumo or lose out, only lowbar wide stance with a belt and wrap everything to the point of ridiculousness or lose out, bend my back as much as possible to squeeze out that extra 20 pounds on a bench or lose out.

Weightlifting is more dynamic, more fun to train. Its all about how much weight you can get over your head.

No offense to powerlifters, some of you fucks are strong as shit. I just don't like the things you need to do to maximize the lift.

Reposting from QTDDTOT since you guys probably know more about squatting.


I have had bad left calf pain from squatting. Failed my set today because of it. I feel it even when front squatting or bodyweight squatting.
I think some possible culprits are:
tight hamstring(left heel raises during lift sometimes)
weak quads
something else is tight

I have oly shoes but it is entirely possible I am not flexible enough for the lift. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have two workout cycles left this year

squat is at 135kg (5kg to go)
bench is at 90kg (10kg to go)
deadlift is at 180kg (GOAL REACHED)

if i hit all my numbers ill get to 150kg squat, 100kg bench and 200kg deadlift

And if i keep this up next year and don't test at the end of each cycle, that gives me 8 training cycles next year

IF and that's a big IF, i hit all my numbers next year, and i do the 6 week version of candito's program without testing my 1rm every cycle (his program is actually 7 weeks) I could have a 190kg squat, 120kg bench 260kg deadlift

My goal in next year is a 1200lb total, realistically it will probably take longer but still, it could happen...

My goals this year are 2/3/4, and i've hit the 4, and only 5kg off 3 and 10kg off 2.

How wide should my stance be going during a snatch, and even a clean? Sometimes I feel kinda dumb with how wide it is, but for a snatch I need a wide stance to properly propel that shit about my head while squatting so low.

For glutes, adjusting my feet and focusing on torsion at the hip. I warmup a little differently now making sure they're firing.
