how the fuck am i supposed to progress on my lifts in PHUL if im only doing bench/squat/dead/barbell and overhead once a week? do I need to progress if I only care about hypertrophy?
also is phul a good routine for somebody who did 6 months of 5x5 and 6 months of a brosplit? if im only going for hypertrophy

Your progression depends if you're a novice or intermediate.
If the former then you progress linearly like novice always do, increasing weight every session, attempting the stated reps.
If intermediate, then a "Linear Periodization" in compounds movements, and "Double Progression" in isolation ones.

i just added bench and ohp hypertrophy days but lower weight higher reps
