It's always worst around new years at my gym, like clockwork the first working day after new years day the gym is suddenly FULL of middle aged overweight people I've never seen before, taking up all the equipment and doing all sorts of retarded newbie shit. For a couple of weeks they're there even more than me but doing the exact same retarded shit each day. Then suddenly 2-4 weeks after new years they all vanish because they burn themselves out going 5 days a week doing the exact same thing.

It's fucking hilarious. Well, apart from them taking up space that is. It's fun guessing who's going to stay for the year, drop out first etc, there's always a few that make it, but only a few.
