>don't cook with olive oil
momscience, or legit science?
Olive oil has a low smoke point. Its not for cooking unless you're trying to poison yourself.
Grapeseed oil is much cheaper and has a higher smoke point. Coconut oil is great to use but more expensive.

Why do you want to eat burnt oil? You don't need a study, you need some /ck/ help!
Literally everybody uses extra virgin olive oil for everything where I live and nobody has died yet.
Literally unoticeable unles you are cooking it stupid hot
Keep in mind that /ck/ knows about cooking what /fit/ does about lifting.

/fit/ knows a shit ton about lifting for size and strength. What people get confused about is that they don't know shit about lifting when it comes to improving yourself for specific sports or health and longevity.

>cooking with olive oil
if it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, go for it. Personally I use it on everything I cook besides deep frying. Then again, cheap olive oil is the one thing we have going for us where I'm from, so I understand if you have to compromise.

it's actually pretty cheap, even the best extra virgin kind. i don't deep fry or anything, i just put a spoon of oil on my wok and heat it up a bit, then throw in veggies/chicken/eggs/whatever. sometimes it sizzles a bit before i put stuff in, but never smokes.
I've been cooking professionally for 6 years now and went to culinary school. We never use olive oil to cook with because it has such a low smoke point.
That means you can't get the oil very hot before it starts to smoke everywhere.
If the oil isn't hot then you won't get a nice sear on whatever you're cooking.
I pretty much only use olive oil to finish a dish if I want the flavor of it
