Thanks! Yeah, my chest is lacking for sure. The majority of my training has been powerlifting oriented I never got too much stimulation on my chest with my powerlifting form on bench. I'm moving on to bodybuilding isolation work now. These wheels were made from squatting up to 95% of my 1rm 6 days per week for like a year lmao. Ass2grass and weightlifting shoes put more emphasis on the quads as well, especially the vastus medialis.

For the majority of my training I was just in the mindset of getting strong and less of looking aesthetic. I just wanted to lift as heavy as possible and be bulky and mean looking haha. I didn't compete or anything, it was just the type of training I was drawn to! I have decent mass from it but, my body fat is kind of hiding my work so I'm cutting now. Yep! I agree, bench definitely is not enough. I'm doing Vince Gironda neck presses, chest dips, and flyes now. I might add in an upper pec exercise since I know they are def lacking. Always had some problems isolating the upper pecs tho.

At 35, one's testosterone levels start to drop every year, so you should hurry and build some solid mass before your levels plummet. You should still be able to put on some good mass at 35.

Your traps push your shoulders forward? I'm not sure if they are really capable of doing that, but I may be misinterpreting. Do you feel your upper body posture is affected? Forward shoulders are usually pulled on by the pecs.

Ahh I gotcha. I've experienced it before and I feel like doing more upper back rowing exercises as well as stretching my pecs more often helped in that regard. Posture is a mix of habit and muscular imbalance.. and of course genetics can play a part. But ensuring you have equal back development with your chest and stretching can help I think. Make sure you keep a good posture when you're sitting at a desk as that's known to contribute to that shoulder-forward posture.

You're probably right about the back. My back used to be underdeveloped compared to my chest. After having worked a lot on my back, it's almost where my chest is. My shoulder posture seem a lot better now than before, actually.

None taken. Idk, the thing is I cutted all the way from may to 1 month ago, went from 100 to 91kg. Now I just want to put on more size and strength, even if that means looking worse for the time being. Winter is coming too so that's another reason to not give a shit about how I look without a shirt. I manage to look pretty good with a shirt even at this bodyfat because of my frame (wide shoulders, tall etc). I'm still going to do a long cut for next summer.

Your legs and calves have a lot of potential and are already showing good signs of development. Your shoulder width contrasts well with your smaller waist size. Just keep training and see where it takes you. Your frame and bone structure has potential. Don't go overboard on the bulking and risk putting fat on. Train hard and keep a small calorie surplus.. It's not worth bulking hard. I've been there and it's wasted a lot of my time.

All you need is a slight surplus. Anything extra just goes to fat. Fat inhibits testosterone and promotes estrogen. Fat hides definition and development. Fat is just plain unhealthy. It might make you look bigger with clothes on but literally any other time, being lean is superior. I'm kinda short and bulked up to 98kg before and holy fuck was it not worth it. Spending a lot of time trying to lose all the fat I gained.. and when you're cutting fat, you lose muscle and time that could be spent building. Be smart about it bro.

That's not a bad number to work with, but it's not optimal to track just weight in general. Weight fluctuations due to many factors can mess with your mind and mess with your tracking. The best thing, if you're able, is to keep measurements on your body fat percentage and perhaps taking pictures of your body like every 3 weeks to track the way you look. Weight doesn't really matter, it's about body fat and how you wanna look! If you notice you're getting softer or your bf% is rising, cut out some calories from your diet. If your bf% is going down and you still look relatively lean, you can afford to eat more. It takes time to learn and listen to your body but it's a skill and the more you practice the better you'll get at it.

I have this weight tracking app on my phone that shows a diagram and I put in my weight every day. (I weigh myself everyday in the morning after peeing to get as little fluctuations as possible). I don't really have a way to measure body fat so I think I'll just keep using this app. I could also take some pictures, that's not a bad idea.

I really wish this was the case. I cut down a lot of my eating while also lifting (went from not lifting, to lifting 4x week, cardio 1xWeek). My weight has stayed a constant 205lbs despite the lifestyle changes.

I was advised to increase my protein intake (was ~25g/day -> 200g/day), so I bought some protein powder and I'm not trying to figure out how to fucking swallow 8 scoops a day of this shit.

I was gross skinny fat, so I ate big and bulked for ~3 months. All of my lifts doubled or tripled in that time. My weight dropped dramatically at first, then slowly returned as I put on muscle.

What I really want though is abs and to look cut without turning into a disgusting skeleton. I just started my first cut since that's where I want to end up. After I finish, I'll return to bulking and begin the cycle anew.

What I want to know is how far do I need to cut to have abs? Seeing them is on my bucket list and the older I get, the harder it becomes.

Currently at 5'11 (I know, manlet) and 148 pounds.

Also, can I get a bf% estimate? Navy calculator puts me at 10% but some that use waist and hips put me as high as 20%. I think I'm definitely somewhere in between, but I'm not sure where. 18% maybe?
