it can be, i have one, alternate X minute rounds of mixing jab/cross/jab/hook etc, then rounds of jumprope or running. and integrate speed bag if you have access to one. be careful if you haven't ever been trained on how to throw a punch and/or don't know how to wrap your hands.. gloves alone leave you vulnerable to lots of injuries. plenty of wrist wrapping videos on youtube if you're just starting out

Thanks anon. I used to have one when I was growing up. I never used wraps, just heavy bag gloves. I also want to increase my punching power as well as overall fat burning. I am mainly a hypertrophy lifter.

yes, it is very good workout.
especially something like muay thai workout on heavy bag

I use gloves with no wraps. I also try to go bare knuckle one or two rounds before my skin starts to get teared (reminds me of my bad punching technique)
