It's such a shallow reason to improve yourself. You're letting someone else control a key aspect of your health and lifestyle. Even then, that "someone" is only potential. Because it's seemingly shallow and the people who 'dislike' it probably do it themselves. It's also prettier to say you lift for yourself/sports/whatever than 'I lift for girls'. Even if you do lift for girls you shouldn't say so to everyone, since girls themselves will think you need their approval and it's just unnecessary bias.

There are two completely different ways of doing it though. Lifting to impress a single girl you like (which is autistic and I don't think anyone legit does this) is anime-tier cuckery. It just won't work. There's nothing wrong to lifting to improve you appearance towards the opposite sex per se, as long as it's applied generally and not towards a single girl.

In that manga, it's implied that the reason Yamcha dies to that Saibaman is because he was out clapping Bulma's cheeks instead of training, and he would've easily defeated the saibamen if he had been dedicated to his training.

Evidence is anecdotal but my friend, who was a skinny fuck, was confident in asking girls out despite always getting turned down.

He took steroids around 11th grade over the summer and pretty much had the best looking body in school. He literally turned down the same girl that he'd asked out when he was skinnier and went on to get his first gf as well as fucking many other women since then.

My favorite part is he literally admits to lift only so he can "fuck bitches" and even tells women this. Somehow it only makes him more attractive to them.
