There's a free gym at the apartment I stay at, but it lacks a squat rack. There's a planet fitness about 25 minutes west of here. There's an LA Fitness 8 minutes north of here. There's some fitness club that isn't showing their prices a block away.

What do I do? I feel like even if I pick a gym to use I won't have the drive to go, even though I want to better myself.

How important is it to measure out fruits and vegetables? I always measure and record all the other foods I eat like oatmeal and peanutbutter but I'm more lenient when it comes to fruit and vegetables.

My father has a small vegetable garden where he grows tomoatoes, cucumbers, and green beans. I typically eat the tomatoes and cucumbers as a snack and don't measure them. Whenever I eat the green beens is when we have a shit ton of them and we steam them to have for dinner. I also eat a lot of frozen vegetables and I'm honestly too lazy to measure them so I just steam some and throw some in a bowl.

The CICO police would tell you that you need to weigh everything, after all- veg still has calories. You could potentially be eating into your deficit without realising.

However, I'm of the camp where I don't weigh non starchy veg - as there's so few calories in it anyway! 30g of spinach compared to say 60g of spinach is less than ten calories difference. Personally I eyeball and have a 25g/50g/75g/100g category that I pop each veg into by rough estimates. This keeps me personally from going mental, as I weigh everything else religiously. I've lost a steady 1kg a week doing this now for three months.

So TLDR up to you, but be aware that you're still eating calories even if you're not logging it with those veggie snacks.

Started July 2016 at 330 pounds, got down to 265 this last June but life kind of happened (multiple family get gatherings, wisdom teeth removed) and two weeks ago was 275. Brushed off the weight log after realizing I didn't want to go back to my old life of being super fucking fat and joined a crossfit gym. Last Saturday was 267 and this week 262, my total daily calories averaging 1,200.

Well, I didn't really go under or anything. I hear a lot of people have to get the gas and they do actual surgery because the teeth are coming in crooked. My teeth had already been in for years but I was developing an issue where the teeth would grind against the inside of my cheek creating white cells (basically eating cancer every day). So when I went to my dentist they just numbed the fuck out of my face and yanked them out. I asked right after if I could do any gym time and they told me to lay off of heavy lifting for at least a week. Before I was super fat all over. Now that I'm dieting, it seems like fat is going away everywhere except lower belly. So although objectively my waist is smaller because less lowerback fat, i still have a bit of muffin top.

Also because low calories= muscles look depleted AF, so I look smaller too.

Hmm been aiming for 2lbs a week so far, but I think I'll adjust to 1lbs and 500 calories per day.
Most days I amange to hit the tsrget +/- 200 calories, but the days I go over feel much worse than the days I go under feel good.

I'll still aim to eat around a 1000 cal deficit but I think psychologically it will be better for me not to see red numbers on MFP every third day.
This way it becomes more of a positive goal to see how far under my goal I can go instead of stressing over every gram. Got to think long term, marathon not a sprint etc.

Increase in muscle means increase in body weight, they weigh more if they're bigger obviously, it's hard to both gain weight and lose weight in different areas of your body simultaneously unless you're a beginner as you mentioned. Your muscles will take longer to recover and your strength will plateau, as you've probably noticed already. Lifting on a bulk is way more satisfying, but keep lifting in the meantime to establish a good habit and stay active.

Im not deluding myself, I know it's a unhealthy habit, but after so long of horrible habits I need to phase them out over time.
Kinda like going from soda to diet soda then to water as opposed to just going straight to water.
I'm hoping I will be able to phase cheat days out as well and get into weekly meal preps so to have a little cheat every day instead of one big one weekly.

What are you doing to try and speed up running wise?

My first suggestion is to (if you haven't already) finish a program like C25K (see pick related). Speed comes with distance in running, or at least the theory is if you can run for a longer time with relative ease you should be able to speed up for a shorter amount of time.

So, if you're still struggling to get faster after finishing C25K- then start slowly increasing the amount of time you run each week. Work your way up to a 10k in both time/distance- then I'm betting you will get that mile time right down.

Also, if you're heaving whilst running it's highly likely you're running too fast. I can strongly recommend the actual NHS C25K podcasts as oppose to timing it yourself- the lady gives some fantastic running tips over the course of the eight weeks. (http://www.nhs.uk/livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx) You should, in theory, be able to keep up a light conversation whilst running.

I'm back to eating snacks and fast food, but trying to stay under 2000 calories a day. I've been told I'm at a good weight (I'm 5'9, built decent I guess) to get fit but I just haven't done it.

Honestly I have no stamina and I hate going to the gym because even with music or podcasts I just get fucking bored to tears. I dont know how to feel about losing more weight, though. I still have my double chin (which even my mom when she was like 110 had, lost genetic lottery as expected) and it bothers me.

What do you guys think?

The entire point of dieting is to treat this as a lifestyle change - one you learn over the months of slow weight loss.

By starving yourself on a daily basis you're not teaching yourself portion control, how many calories you can actually eat in a day and what that looks like. You're not teaching yourself to lean towards healthier snacks- you're doing a crash diet which will likely only lead to you having loads of loose skin, tons of muscle lost and bouncing back up on weight afterwards.

If you want to keep the weight off you need to accept that this is a marathon- not a sprint, as you really need to ingrain healthier habits that you can adopt for the rest of your life.

I'm not keen on the idea of removing temptation through control. That's just ignoring the problem rather than addressing it.
It's something I'm gonna have to deal with eventually so I'd rather learn it now and lay the foundation before I build my house.

As is, I'm buying food every day because if I buy for more than one day I'll eat it. usually after spinning it in my head over and over trying to justify it to myself.
This sounds pathetic to say it out loud (kind of) but my goal is to buy, I dunno, a chocolate bar and make it last a whole week. Just as a demonstration of willpower.

Once I'm able to do that then I'll have the confidence to commit.
If I can't then I was doomed to fail from the start.

Portion it out- pop your daily portion (so if it's a bar of chocolate- one or two blocks) into sandwich bags. That way you know you have a bag a day so to speak.

Or, buy smaller bags/bars- so instead of buying an entire huge bar, buy a pack of six little bars and have one a day.

Pls no bully. Having kind of a really shit day, /fat/ due to stuff unrelated to losing weight but I fucking hate myself and I want to eat everything in my house in a rage/sadness-fueled binge.

I've lost just under 20lbs so far and was doing pretty good but all of a sudden today happened, my shitty meds don't seem to be working and the only thing that used to help was eating until I fell asleep.

What can/should I do today? If I let myself do it I'll be even more pissed off with myself eventually. Maybe go to sleep for a few hours?
