I've finally decided to get my fat ass off the couch and do some cardio for the first time in my life since gym class. I got a gym membership and have been jogging on a treadmill at 0 incline to see as accurately as possible how much i'm improving.
>Day 1 (Wednesday) : Ran at 4 mph for 30 seconds before being exhausted.
>Day 2 (Thursday) : Ran at 4 mph for 1 minute before getting exahusted.
>Day 3 (Friday, 9 A.M) : Ran at 5 mph for 2 minutes and 30 seconds
>Day 3 (Friday, Right Now) : Ran at 5.5 mph for 5 minutes before stopping because I felt my right calf starting to fuck up (Didn't stretch it properly) and I knew damn well I had at least 30 more seconds in me of running.
Is it normal to improve this quickly or is it just some mental shit that was stopping me from reaching this time before? I understand these times aren't great but I got pure joy out of managing to reach 5 minutes this quickly. Also any tips for improving faster?

Also my bad, I said "ran" countless times. It was actually more of a jog, but still. I like it.

Eat less, lift more. Cardio is for twinks and women.

Some lifting routines will start you off with just the bar. You keep adding 5 lbs or so to the bar each time you workout. Everything is all fine and good until you hit your working weight, and then it's all stalls, "eat more fagit", deloads, and form checks.
What this means: walk more and lift more. You're not pushing yourself hard enough. Also eat potatoes, they have more potassium per calorie than bananas, which helps prevent cramps.

What are you looking to do?
Lose fat or get in shape to run a 5k 10k marathon ECT?
If you just want to lose weight try eating 500 to 800 cals less than what you need and when you hit the tread meal figure out your target heart rate for weight loss it should be a quick paced walk. Then just do that for 30 min to an hour. Watch the pounds melt off.
Once you lose some weight hop over and start picking up the weights nothing feels better then a great pump and some good gains
