But will you lose muscle?

Sacrifices must be made fatty. You can rebuild muscle a lot easier than building it in the first place.

oh while also only eating in a 6 hour period a day

The most effective method is slow fat loss with calorie deficit around 200-500 kcals/day from your current diet, then modify the diet by lowering it by about 100 kcals every week or two. The goal is to lose about 1lb/wk for normal fat ranges (10-25 ish pbf). Above 25 pbf can lose more and still be gucci

not if you lift while losing that weight
add lots of protein to the diet to keep the muscle growing

Define effective here.
I started at around 110kg, I'm down to 85kg now at about 5 and a half months in.
I've been on /fat / regularly, and I'm constant trying to convince people there that they would be much better off on a sustainable diet rather than some water fast bullshit or super extreme meme diet, but so many of them are obsessed with going fast.
But what is an actual compelling argument to support that, other than "you won't learn healthy habits and you'll just regain the weight because you haven't actually considered how to keep the weight off long term" because that shit rarely seems to work even though it should be obvious.

healthy, nutritious, balanced diet at 500 calorie per day deficit. unless you're massively obese imo
