So I've been doing a full body routine 3x a week inconsistently for a few months now but I realised that I weigh too much with too high body fat %. (1.80 m, 90kg, ca. 25% bf)
So in 1 week I will start to count my calories and go for a 20% calorie reduction.
I also want to switch my routine to the following:
ABYABxx
A:
Squats
Benchpress
OHP
Calves
maybe some triceps
Abs
maybe some Legpress
B:
Deadlifts
Lat Pulldown (can't do pull up, chin up)
Barbell Row
Leg Curls
Ad-/Abductors
maybe some biceps
Abs
Y:
some mild cardio like jogging (usually in the 5km range in 40min in up and downhill forest track)
I have a calorie deficit so I will not gain muscle, right?
So is this routine suitable to retain the little muscle I have gained?
Should I do 3x8-12 or 5x5 for my goals?
