How bad is it to have 1 beer per day? I'm not cutting or anything so I don't care about the extra calories. But will it have any effect on my gains?
Alcohol blunts protein synthesis from elevating to optimal anabolic levels.
So if you're interesting in maximising your gains, you should lay off the alcohol entirely, or at east only drink once a week, or fortnight, or month etc. Everyday isn't good.

One beer a day is fine if you're not cutting, but drinking copious amounts and getting drink certainly will affect your gains, TRUST ME. The amount of times I've basically nullified my training session of a day by getting drunk is depressing.
