Anything between 15-30 reps, regardless of setsxreps, best proof of this that Brad Schoenfeld research/paper, which basically he tested 3x7 vs 7x3, the results were pretty much the same when it hypertrophy, however 7x3 gives better strength results. More strength = more mass gains.

Which is why people who do 6-12 rep workouts always lift with weight that's heavy enough to make working in that reprange a challenge and add more weight every week.
