What are good foods to eat on a cut?
It seems the prevailing advice, when skinny-fat, is to cut to well-defined muscle, then bulk to increase muscle mass. It seems that I'm to drink only water and eat healthy protein.
I generally eat 1-3 peanut butter sandwiches and 1-2 chicken breasts a day, and I only drink water. Is this ok?

No. Eliminate bread, peanut butter is too calorie dense so it goes too. Lean meat, non-starchy vegetables, eggs, and plain oats for carbs.

Don't eat oats on a cut. Not filling worth a damn
Rondas Nacional
Avoid carbs. Bread and pastas.

this
I eat 80g now that I'm doing around 2-3 meals a day and eat maintenance and it just isnt worth, I like to use them with some milk for flavour(wont need sweeteners with milk) and it's around 400kcals just by itself
on a cut get lean meats and fish, A LOT of veggies and if you want rice, pasta and all that eat around 50-60g of it, it still has a pretty good volume

Some people don't completely eliminate carbs on a cut. I am one of them. I just eat oats. Also, if you don't call oats filling, it's obvious you have never actually eaten oats.

Maybe they eat those powdered oats with brown sugar and artificial fruit flavors added. Plain steel cut oats are filling as fuck.
