Does adding weight to this make it easier or harder to do a pullup? I just started doing pull-ups and could only do 12 on 25lb setting. How often should I do pull-ups?
makes it harder derp thats why u add weight resistance
Adding weight makes it harder. Try going up by five pounds each workout. When you get to 100 pounds on there, your back will be shredded.

Ohhh okay, I thought adding weight made the seat go up more therefor helping you. So if I had 25lb added then that means I could do more bodyweight pullups?
This is an assited pullup the less weight, the harder. Try it yourself at different weights.

Have I been rused? So I prob can only do like 8 pull-ups without the assistance. Which is average as fuck for my age.
How fast is progression in pull-ups? Will I be able to do like 30+ within like 2 months or is it slower?
Don't do pullup, do deadliftup instead,

Progressing to unilateral work is better than adding weight. Archer pulls, one-armed pull ups, etc. Also, added weight can fuck your spine up.

If you can do pull ups without assistance, then there is no reason to use the assisted pull up machine. Do more pull ups unassisted and try to add more reps. Alternatively, get a backpack or a dip belt and add some weight each time. Or just start eating more, then the pull ups will be harder. You want a progression plan in basically every exercise you do. Did you read the sticky?

What the fuck is going on with that guy's skin?

My gym doesent have any equipment to do pullups on. All we have is 1 assisted pull-up machine which is always in use. They also dont have benches , yet we have like 8 hip abductor machines that are always abandoned. Fucking planet fitness.

Took me a minute but the whole picture has it, not just the guy

Looks like a shitty filter, or half-assed Photoshop. Dude upped the image sharpness and played with contrast to make the definition on his back stand out more.

Place a heavy weight on the assistance thing. Voila you have a pull up bar.
>>42715368
most assistance machines i've seen let you put the pad down so you can do unassisted shit
does planet fitness custom order their equipment with less features?

It wouldn't surprise me, I hear they use artificial weight on some of their machines so you can work out all you want and you wont get any results. They're like the ultimate gainz goblins
