It's fine and can be good.
Most salad isn't worth eating. Either it's mostly meme-lettuce like (((iceBERG))) or it's smothered in dressing, negating any of the "low calorie teehee I ate so well today" feelgoodery that most fat bitches get out of it.
Have spinach or arugula or something. Use vinaigrette instead of ranch or other useless dressings.
Other than that it's fiber, you don't have to like salads, just eat some vegetables sometimes.

I use white cabbage, but any will do.
Sometimes I'll add some carrot or turnip, but I usually eat those more as snacks
I find using using brine-y dressings and lots of pickles helps keep calories down
Saurkraut, liquid from canned black olives, pickle juice, etc.
Also really strong and salty cheese, like parm.
I suspect people who load up on croutons, bacon bits, ham, and ranch really just want the salt content. Leafy greens need salt.
