soo. three weeks ago, after a full Body workozut with squats as first exercise, my right quadriceps tendon started hurting like crazy. since then, everything that involves bending the knee more than 45° hurts like hell, bodyweight squats are impossible. It's the third time this has happened to me, once on the same knee in 2015 and on the left side in 2016, both times it took half a year to get well. This time i am trying to ice it as often as i can, apart from some bodyweight squats once a week after it started hurting (which made it worse) i've tried to avoid loading my knees. ive just finished taking 150 mg of diclofenac a day orally for 6 days, it kinda alleviated the pain but now it is back. I dont wanna spend 6 months practicaly disabled again, last two times i got so depressed i even stopped doing upper Body work. is there anybody with experience or does anyone have any suggestions on what to do so i can get back to squatting deadlifting, doing cardio and so on in a few weeks? Also once it is okay, some suggestions on how to avoid it in the future? ive thought about maybe limiting myself to squatting no more than 225 lbs for a year and sticking to higher reps/ form work. everytime i get to 315 x 10-15 reps it happens again

have had the same problem a couple times, i would stretch as much as possible (like slavic squat position and whatever keeps quads stretched) and it would go away after a few days
bro science tho got no evidence to say it works
You shouldn't have sets of 10-15 on squat in the first place especially with 315 unless your max is like 650

i cant squat down, it causes intense pain, or should i do it regardless?

i was running 5/3/1.
the week it happened this time i did 5x5 with around 300 and 5 days later 1x5 with 300 and 1x20 with 135. next day it started

Oh i thought you meant like 1 set of 10-15

i couldnt to so i would sit on the ground and from there move to slav squat
i would feel no pain when in that position tho, if you do feel it anyway i suggest to stop
should go see a fisioterapist or however it's called in burgerland (the guy who specializes in recovering from muscle, bone and tendons injuries by prescribing exercises to do) since he would probably understand what's your problem
also wtf diclofenac burger doctors always go so heavy on pain killers

doesnt sound like a great plan
up to you anyway

i know :( that's why i'm asking for your opinions and suggestions, the other docs don't know shit about lifting

you should look for an ortopedic doc or sport doc or to a fisioterapist as i said, those are specialists in those things. probably i would prefer the latter first, he has a deeper knowledge on how the body moves
maybe you are just doing some movement wrong or taking a position that particulary loads the tendon
would do it asap since if that's it keeping on training will only add damage, but stopping and waiting in hope it heals is also no good
you will probably have to stay away from lifts for a bit but no need to stop all activities

do eccentric training to heal tendons.
look it up.
yes, it should hurt a bit.
