Hey /fit/,
I've been doing strength training for a while now, I regularly bench 2pl8, squat 3pl8, and didily 4pl8.
I have plenty of muscle, ect ect ect, I'm just an average gymbro.
Okay so here's the predicament, I can't do cardio for shit. Every time I try to run for even a minute I feel like I'm about to die. Is there something wrong with me?
I talked to my doctor about it, she said I should check with a cardiologist.

Are you going at steady pace? Or are you doing 100% from the get go?
Get hyped with music and then run.
Or
Start at a very slow and steady pace for 5 mins then slowly crank it up.
Make sure to be limber before you run.

Height? Weight? Regardless of your body composition too much weight = too much strain on your organs/bones.
Either that or you have asthma or something

156, 5'9
I've never had asthma. I'm not even huge I just frequent the gym for exercise and do strength training. Never cardio.

It sounds a little over exaggerated, but if you've gained a lot of muscle weight then your body could be struggling to support it due to lack of cardio training. Even then, you should have gained some endurance increase naturally while lifting.Otherwise, if you struggle walking up stairs then your best bet is to gradually build up your endurance.

Hiking, biking, and swimming (in the order of relative easiness to hardness) are all solid options if you're at the beginning of cardio training.
