Yesterday was supposed to be rest day and I trained anyway it, felt good to train but had to skip last rows or risk an injury, I could feel it.
Today would be 5th day in a row I spend 2+ hrs a day at the gym and I feel like it's a bad idea to go, yet still want to. I know I could train chest and tris, not sure how well the delts or traps hold up if I want to do any compound movements. Thoughts on rest days, do you keep them religiously?

You need rest days, I know it sucks you just want to be at the gym, go swimming or something on a rest day

they're called rest days, for a reason.
but... I try to get in a light, full-body session, through swimming, and it would cost me less energy, than going off to the gym.
>give 110% meme or you aren't trying
You can't keep a full intensity for a long time, even a moderate time before burning out. Just do calisthenics and cardio on rest days.
Pic unrelated

Yeah I know. But I sleep 8-9hrs a day and spend at least an hour a day on stretching (not in one go) that's not included in gym time. I know rest is needed, I'm just looking for the natty sweet spot.
Swimming is actually not a bad idea.

It's not a meme, if I do PPLx I feel fresh and energized on day 5, if I go PPLP I will get a workout and feel pumped more than if I hadn't gone that day, but not as good as if I had waited a day and got that proper post-rest workout. But it'd also be 1 day later.
The way I do it I don't schedule rest days I just take them if I feel like I need one and trust myself not to lie to myself.
If you feel good enough to work out then do you really need a rest day? If you keep doing that you will probably burn out quickly though.

That the question only you can answer.

>I'm just looking for the natty sweet spot
>implying gainz can be made from one day to the next
you have the wrong idea of how training works.
