Started lifting a couple of months ago after turning 25 to make a change in my life. I'm happy that I'm changing my life for the better, instilling discipline in me and all that good jazz, but all it does is making me wish I started earlier and that I'd be seeing some real progress had I started at my early 20s and it makes me depressed and regretful at times that I wasted my early 20s like a dumb fuck.

There are people in much, much, much worse a position than you OP. But I know how you feel. Since high school ive been telling myself I need to exercise more, and I have been. But I just can't seem to keep myself on a strict schedule/diet. Sometimes I go a week or two without even picking up weights or going on the treadmill. Im only 20 but still feelsbadman

Take it from me anon. START NOW and you won't regret it 2-5 years down the line and you'll be at an 'ideal' age when you can 'enjoy' the 'benefits'
Meanwhile I'll be in my late 20s/30s by the time I 'make it'...

fake it till you make it

I started at 17
Wish I did football in high school just for pussy
Everyone that is in that situation does.
Everyone wish they planted that apple tree many years ago so they reaped fruits from it today.
Everyone does. If I had started in high school I might have actually gotten laid. My shoulders are wide as fuck and I wasted that early on.

Started lifting casually at 18. Only started taking it seriously for the past year. I'm 21, I'm more fit than I've ever been and I'm going to uni in a week. Gonna try for some fresh outta high school poon. Wish me luck lads.
If I have any regrets, it's that I wish I would've taken weightlifting in high school, but starting late is better than not starting at all.

It happens to everyone anon. I'm 18 and I wish I started lifting at like 15, not 17. Just keep going and don't let your regrets get in the way of your gains

Glad my regrets are making you feel better about yourself.
Yeah it sucks OP. 27 year old here did a bit of lifting when I was 21 but I was max 125lb... When I started lifting at the start of this year I was an ok 155lb from doing cardio and calisthenics. Up to 175 now can't get enough of it. Starting to do olympic lifts and starting those really really makes you wish you had been working on things younger.
it's ok anon, better late than never.
