There is only one work that can accomplish this.
>Grab dumbells
>Lay down on bench
>Place dumbells in position to bench them
>As you bench, engage your abs as well to sit up
>Once seated up, have your arms and dumbells to your sides
>Swing the barbells back to your chest as you lay back down
This way you cover the only muscles you need in one simple workout, abs, chest, and biceps. It's the only workout I've done and 5 years.
Have a robust frame. Thick wrists and ankles, big rib cage, robust skull, wide clavicles and therefore broad shoulders. Waist shouldnt be wide, but not narrow either.
If you have more bone, there's a bigger surface area where muscles can attach. You'll also have a more effective endocrine system, will likely be able to build and maintain muscle more easily etc.
Everyone has a different body that is unique only to him. There's a lot of variables that go into it, so its impossible to predict. Your hormonal profile might be an indication as to whether you'll achieve a great physique, but there's no sure-fire way to tell other than lift, eat, sleep well CONSISTENTLY. Not half a year, not a year. Make it your lifestyle and see where it goes.
If your frame is shit and your insertions are nothing to write home about, roids wont help you anyway. Good luck
Currently getting there
>heavy bench
>heavy squats
>heavy deads
>high volume push ups, pullups, situps
>run lots of Ks
>eat like a bull
Such is life during permabulk.

>progressive overload
Will help you gain size, but how much is a different question altogether. Thats not determined by the number of fucking reps you do every other day
