Is having long arms a legitimate excuse for sucking at bench and OHP? Or am I just mindgaming myself? Pic is me, currently 2 months in.
lifts in kg are as follows:
OHP: 37.5 x 8
Bench: 62.5 x 6
Squat: 110 x 6
DLL 115 x 5

I can already tell from these numbers, you're not squatting to depth.
Don't worry anon, most everybody struggles with Bench and OHP in the beginning. Your legs have been your most used muscles up until now, your upper body needs a lot of work to catch up.
You should start adding in accessories on your bench days. Tricep pulldowns or skullcrushers, and adding in push-ups should help.
Or you could add some deloaded sets on bench. Maybe do 2x10-12 of only the bottom half of the rep, and then 2x10-12 sets of the top half.
I had a hard time getting above 100lbs on OHP and found deloading to 3x10 sets for a month or two to be beneficial. I would increase the weight and drop to 4x6, then 4x8, and then 3x10. Increase weight again and drop back down to 4x6.
Just remember, you can progressively load with reps and sets without having to increase weight. It's a good way to work through plateaus and help certain muscles get extra volume.
