Resorting to cliched namecalling has no effect on the contemporary NEET. We are economic auto-didacts, self-taught philosophers and gifted visionaries. While others waste their life labouring under the orders of those who see only material cost in life, we pursue leisure above all else, knowing as we do that leisure and time to oneself is the basis of genius. Despite many people disliking the culture and society they help maintain through their work, and despite understanding now that we have only a single life on earth and that any meaning we attribute to it as the result of self-willed or socially-inculcated ideologies. they continue to wake early and trudge to their jobs for one single reason: Guilt. Throughout time religions have taken advantage of Man's guilt. a guilt experienced for no logical reason except that he unlike other animals is a self-aware being whose abstract thoughts conflict with the apparently practical, rational reality he finds himself a part of. We post-guilt NEETs will not bow to internal or external pressures encouraging us to sacrifice our contentment and sensitive dispositions for the sake of attaining money, or womenfolk. We alone stand proudly, detached from but keenly observant of the slave masses who yell at us for not being as unhappy as they are. We alone, we band of true men. defend our right to live a dignified life against those wishing to deprive of us of it. Yes you can mock. you can criticize. you can echo the demands your masters make upon you. But who is likely to regret their lives more? The noble and dignified NEETs who spend their truly precious time reading, pondering, philosophizing and engaging in critical, urgent debate online? Or the miserable, resentful masses. their eyes bloated and sagged by excess folds of skin. their hair falling out and their gums bleeding from stress. This is reality. This is 2015. We are the future.

Composer/sound designer.

not really but being fit (or in my case just getting fit, I'm still working my way there, I do cycling 4x a week and I'm about 8 kg off goal weight rn, I've been unfit basically my whole life and having a modicum of cardio and athleticism is truly an amazing feeling).

What being fitter does do is make me happier in general and adds extra structure to my life which improves output, the #1 thing I'm always telling people about is getting a proper sleep schedule going, so many people believe they have all these sleep problems when the reality is the bastards won't go to bed, if you set exact times to go to bed and wake up then stick to it all of your sleeping problems will disappear.

>>42610166
If you're in this thread.

Fell into it, applied for a spot at a studio, showed them my stuff, I got it. I think I was meant to be only an interim temp while they found someone with more experience but then they realized I was good, still very much at the start of my career.

The #1 thing is of course making sure your music was top notch, set yourself the standard of commercial soundtrack music and do not allow yourself to ever write music underneath that standard. You get out what you put in, I wasn't treating it like a job and so I wasn't getting a job, when I went at it with 100% focus and effort that's when I got a job, they don't come to you, you have to make them happen.

The other thing that helped me was knowing FMOD or WWISE which is game middleware.

I'm still working on the self promoting and business side of being a composer so I can't help you too much there.
>>
>>42610320
kitchens are a terrible way to lose weight. I work in a kitchen too, I get a free meal everyday. When I started, I gained 20 pounds and I wasn't weightlifting at the time because of a back injury. I managed to lose it by having a side of fries instead of a full meal.

Some richer folk however you can tell are financially struggling due to their moods though.

I have a "job", not necessarily a profession that anyone could do for the rest of their lives due to the pay and the wear and tear on my body.

I load box trucks and semis at a window factory. I handle something like 1000-1200 windows per week.

Being fit DEFINITELY helps, because you need to be strong and have an absurd level of stamina to load a truck inside of the deadlines they set in place. I don't think many /fit/izens could do it without 4-5 months of slowly adjusting to the demands on your body.

>>
>>42615629
It's difficult to find a job that you want to be at because you are going to be at the mercy of someone else's interests.

I have been given a few words of advice on finding a career that you can live with. The first thing you mentioned is pride. Do something you are proud of, or at least proud of the final product. The second thing is finding something that you enjoy doing on a day-to-day basis. Being content at your career is a big part of being able to spend a large majority of your time there. The third is finding a career that lets you live the kind of life you want to live outside of your day-to-day work. I really enjoyed working at a hardware store, but at the end of the day the irregular schedule and lack of full time meant that my personal life was questionable.

Hope this helps. But I still think you should find meaningful things to do outside of work as well. Cultivate friendships, skills and hobbies. They are as equally rewarding.

I'm basically a NEET at 26 years old with a STEM degree in IT graduated a few months ago.I wagecuck maybe 2 days a week in retail, I've been looking for a job since January and have done 7 interviews since then and still no job. I'm pretty outgoing and not an autist but have 0 IT experience outside of school work so I'm looking into doing some blue collar work and volunteering somewhere to get some IT experience in the mean time. I applied to probably 100 places for internships while in school and was told I didn't have enough experience for both the interviews for intern positions while in school.
>you need a degree to be successful anon!
>well you can't only have a degree you need experience too!

They are. But the shittalking that fucking happens when you take them. We don't have proper staffing. When somebody takes a break, we go below mandatory minimums, which means one person has to be in-charge of multiple channels. So Police Dispatch gets Fire/EMS Dispatch while Information becomes the first 911 call-taker. So you answer the phone have one person screaming in your ear while Gumshoe asks you to do his taxes and look up hotels for him while mixing his alphabet with military and police.

And when you do that to your coworkers, they hate you. People quit. It's an awful job.

When I had to actually sit in front of a committee about the complain and answer why I didn't go to her, I explained I was in shadow phase and policy dictates I can't ask any questions of my CTO and must show capability to use my resources to get things done properly.

It responded with more crying and a last warning at the end of my training phase.

My biggest tip would be to get an internship. I didn't have one and it was tough getting a job out of college. Eventually I got an interview by my dad's friend of a friend kinda deal. I work as a project coordinator for a pipeline construction company. It's a pretty sweet gig man. I make 90k first year out of college. In a few years I'll be a project manager making 150k+. To be honest though I'm not really using much of my PNGE degree.

I work at a retouching/cgi company making print commercials; more like all the photoshopping and production of anything cgi.
Personally I am in the art direction and cgi section drawing shit and building realistic cgi shit for hi res images.

If I don't hit the gym I got stir crazy sometimes cause the clients are retards. It does not help the job but most people I know who do it have either a dadbod or are fat, I'd rather be fit instead. It is always funny when people do not expect you to be fit.

Being fit helps you socialise since most people i've worked with go to the gym or play sports so you have something to talk about.

At my current company we have planking/sit up competitions and if you work for a big corp they'll give you discounted gym membership

Software architect. I usually go to work in business outfit.

Workout out helps to keep a mind/body balance. Also, people seem to be more agreable. The stamina you get from working out (and learning to push through pain) helps in negotiations where other people tire or cannot work through the frustration.

I feel your pain because getting your first job without being someone's friend / son / etc is really hard and unfair, but honestly it's your own fault for falling for the STEM and especially the IT meme...if you graduated a few months ago then you must've started like what, 2013? That was like fucking 10 years after IT jobs stopped being in higher demand than the available supply of IT grads

Was Finance. Stamina and focus is 80% of what keeps people sane in the field. The drinking and crash in your metabolism is what causes most people to wash out / retire from finance before making Managing Director or Portfolio Manager.

If you are in S&T then fitness matters. Institutional sales is 99% looks, and partying with NEET's who need a wingman which will then turn into their trusted confidant/broker/salesman. Mandatory fitness is expected on most desks given how cut throat commission trading has become.

Currently INT O. Without question fitness matters. People think it's a desk job but having a cubicle does not dilute the fact you need to be in the field, working assets and running collections. Emphasis on Running, carrying and managing your gait with stupidly large weights on your body.

Looking at the Moscow Rules (old school 1970's spy routes the CIA used to run in St Petersburg & Moscow) I can only conclude everyone at Moscow desk must have been a Boston marathon runner or on Meth/Test to manage those old checkpoints.

Currently Int.
