I'm getting pretty skelly but I've still got a lower belly bulge and I dont have much more weight I can lose (male, 5'6, 67.5kg), will it actually go completely flat or do I need to build up my abs and the bit between my belly button and groin more to get it to be flush? As far as I know "starvation mode" is a meme. If you eat under your TDEE you will lose weight, and it's especially easy when you're as heavy as you are and are just starting out.

The danger with eating too low is that you won't have enough energy. I've had days where I've eaten 1,200 calories or less, sometimes as low as just 500, and I would start to feel really lightheaded and dizzy. The same with when I get dehydrated. So if you do go really low-cal be sure to drink plenty of water and don't get too active if you think you're going to fall over or something.

That being said, if you're 5'11 and 300lbs that means your TDEE should be around 2,800 calories so I would suggest just cutting down to between 1,800 and 2,300. At your weight you will lose really quick.

Don't eat less than 1200cal a day. Don't exercise until you can barely move. That's the road to failure.

If you want to make it, eat at a modest deficit and exercise what you are comfortable with.

I don't know why you won't share your health problem, but in 3 months I went from diabetic (7.1 A1C) to normal (5.1 A1C) by losing 35ish lbs with this kind of plan.

If you enter keto with fasting, why are you against keto as a regular diet? I always think the main difference is how people grew up. Fatties were conditioned to eat crap and more of it, while I imagine skellies didn't have shit tier parents.

My guess is their metabolism is really inefficient (or just configured differently) than ours.
We know you can't accumulate weight from nothing, but it's entirely possible to not store everything you eat with 100% efficiency.

Personally I think it was because my mum gave me and my sister shit foods. It wasn't that it was unhealthy (which it was), but just cheap stuff. Tinned meat like spam and corned beef, frozen pizzas, findus crispy pancakes (google it), chicken kievs, chips with pretty much every meal, half the plate was chips.

When I was old enough to start earning money and get my own food, I got the nice stuff, the expensive stuff. I remember the day I first got paid from my paper round I went and bought a thorntons chocolate chip loaf cake and ate the entire thing in one go. I'd have mcdonalds as often as I could because I'd never had it before. That pretty much set me on the path to fatassdom.

Metabolic differences between the individuals just don't vary that highly.
Give two people the same diet for a month and you'll see similar changes in weight up to 5-10%. 100% is ludicrous and doesn't happen even in people with confirmed metabolic diseases. If it did then they'd be in an ICU because there's no way you can have something that severe and not know about it.

They just underestimate calories, the same as fat people do.
Tell a typical fatty how much 2,000 calories is and they won't believe you. Same with skellies.

I don't know, there's a guy at my work who's a skelly who easily eats over his BMR in my sight, and according to him he still eats a breakfast and supper at home. He eats huge portions of calorie dense foods, white bread, processed meats, pasta, bigger servings than I do of salads. He goes running but not more than an hour a day.
So unless he lies and starves himself at home and works out for hours to play a joke on the fatty at work, he simply doesn't store fat with the same efficiency as me.
