Asian, a bit of lactose intolerance. I drink milk just fine and there's bloat/gas afterwards, and there's a present chance of the drizzling shits afterwards but nothing I can't handle.
So I'm halfway into a bag of protein powder and it's suddenly become hard to drink. It feels like my stomach constantly feels full when I take a gulp, I get a shitload of gas afterwards and it's a struggle to drink the entire shake so I space it throughout the day.
What's happening?
Should I get WPI instead? Or change the type of protein to like soy or something? Or mix it with water instead?
pic unrelated
get whey isolate
asians were a mistake

This ...so much
Too much protein will give you the shits. Just balanced your diet and take creatine.

I have a similar problem where taking my ON whey isolate will give me diarrhea and nausea. I'm not lactose intolerant as far as I know: i drink plenty of whole milk throughout the week.
shit's dumb.

Pea protein is a lot cheaper than whey concentrate, and has 90% the absorbability. It's also safer and cheaper than soy.
Only downside is you HAVE to eat it in a banana and berry or banana and cocoa smoothie to mask the taste

Isolate is way too expensive for like 5% extra protein per scoop (and no lactose, obviously)
