As an american coming to study I expected so much more from here. Both gyms I've gone to, while admittedly 20 euro a month ones, have been shittier or roughly equivalent to my university gym in the US.
I've lived in Braunschweig and Bremen and at both of them it's either billed to the brim with disrespectful sandnigs or it just has shitty equipment choice. And I expected neatness due to the general vibe in Germany of beurocracy and planning, but how the fuck do you people not manage to put the dumbells back in the correct order when you finish using them? From the outside it looks shitty but you'll make great friends and you'll literally always have a gym buddy if you want. Plus you can play intramurals and shit with a bunch of awesome guys.

At any school with over 10,000 people, it's easy to get lost in the crowd, but that also means you can find a decent sized group of non-sjw retards. Colgate is <3000 students, so everyone has to be liberal or else the whole campus will shun u. Really small, gossipy community. The courses at colgate I'll say are a bit better than at NYU depending on the department, but the students at colgate are way more insufferable simply because there is no way to escape them without leaving campus. I felt like a real adult living on my own in a house and commuting to school at NYU. Really helped me rank up my adult skill set.
