Im walking around the lake by my house every day, 4 miles. Im doing some shitty calisthenics beginner routine. Im afraid to start lifting weights and figure this is a good compromise.

I feel fucking amazing. I almost have trouble falling asleep I feel like I have so much energy. I used to hit the snooze butten four or five times and throw my pillows at the cat to shut her up. Now Im up, showered, and dressed before my alarm even goes off.

The first four days blew donkey balls, but after that it has been a fucking cake walk.

You say nephrologist like that would make somebody particularly qualified to talk about diabetes, weight loss or general human physiology. This may be news to you, but a nephrologist is actually a specialist in kidney disease who has not received any specialized higher education in diabetes or nutrition.

The reason you have too much sugar in your blood is because your liver is releasing too much of it, secondary to hepatic insulin resistance or problems with the pancreas. The reason to eat low-fat is that excess fat is toxic to the liver and pancreas, free fatty acids induce insulin resistance and weight loss causes liberation of free fatty acids that can and should spare dietary fat.

This is simply retarded. And there's a reason for why eating 2 weeks at maintenance is recommended after a long diet. So you restore your hormonal balance and then go back to dieting again. But this doesn't invalidate that a reduction in calories for a long time makes you lose weight. And yes, obviously, as you lose weight, your TDEE is going to lower, because less fat and less muscle requires less energy to sustain. It's not something "bad" that happens, and that's why you need to adjust according to your new weight at least once a week.

This is completely false, hundreds of athletes lose weight by counting calories and knowing their TDEE: it's true that metabolism slows down as you lose weight, but it's not the way Fung make it look like. You can achieve an enormous amount of weight loss just by counting calories.

Im the anon who posted his vitals after a 30 day fast. I know its just an anecdote, but after the fourth day my mind went clear. I'm a glorified code monkey and I found everything just flowing so much easier. And I had this hyper intense laser like focus on the task at hand. I found it incredibly easy to focus and did not get distracted as easily.

And before the fast I had gotten roped into reading Game of Thrones. it took me three months to finish two books. I easily finished the other 5 in the set I bought before the fast was over. I could sit down with the book and read nonstop all night long. While before I was lucky to get an hour of reading before I was yawning and ready to fall asleep and strugling to keep interested.

I'm starting to get the feeling thats the case. When I told him I was going to use fasting to cure my diabetes he laughed and said diabetes isn't curable and I'll be dependant on exogenous insulin for the rest of my life to control blood sugar. "No one gets rid of their insulin dependace."

When he came in to see me on my 30 day checkup he took my blood pressure again even though the nurse had just done it. "well at least you're not dead." He checked out my heart and lungs, felt around my nodes and commented that there was no inflamation like the last time.

Then he said "well we'll get the blood drawn to see just how bad you're treating your body"

The nurse comes in. She was incredibly supportive, said I was looking much better, and even said my complexion was much better and even pointed out she had written down in my chart that my acne and rosacea was cleared up. I had to look in the mirror because I hadn't even noticed that.

I limit the people Im training to no more than 14 day fasts. The anon who did the 30 day got spectacular blood labs as a result. But there's risks associated with fasts that long like mineral depletion. Im sure that risk was mitigated with vitamins, but its not a good approach IMO.

Every fat fuck I've put on fasting gets to day 12 or 14 and starts talking about going longer but I strongly work to discourage it because the risk of re-feeding syndrome increases beyond 14 days.

I encourage a two week re-feed based on the petimeter of the store, not worrying about calories and eating to satiety in a 16:8 window. I still observe overall weightloss during this period even after the initial gain. Appetite control being regained from that 14 day fast is the biggest contributing factor to this weightloss despite ad-libitum eating IMO.

After a two week refeed I'll allow another fast if they want to do it again. otherwise Ill switch them to two non-consecutive fasting days during the week.

Every single diabetic, whether they had been treating it for years or only found out when I made them get their bloodwork done were off of their diabetic medications permanently after either one or two 2week fasting periods.

After two weeks I still felt great and that a1c test the pharmacist gave me was encouraging enough to go for a full month.

I figured the results were good enough to keep me off insulin at 30 days so I quit the fast then.

I honestly thought I was going to starve the entire time. but after the fourth day I didn't have a single hunger twinge even once.

I used to think about food nonstop and trying to avoid snacking at work was exhausting. But that fast just made it stop. Even now that im eating again im not thinking about food until its time to eat.

The physician you saw only said this because he had to say what wouldn't get him sued. We all recommend a strict low calorie diet to 1000kcal deficit to reverse diabetes. Pure fasting might lead to you passing out and hitting your head and then suing me so I can't tell you that shit. I lived one of the most sedentary lives you could have, might as well lose the fat when there is no muscle there.
Weirdly enough I have better endurance than most, I've been hiking literal mountains and normies get out of breath so easily, so at least I have that.

This is how it is in many professions, you can't get the person's true educated opinion because of fear of lawsuit.
